Has anyone tried to put a payload in this glider?

I am interested in using it as a base of a UAV system. What kid of payload weight (on top of the standard motor, esc, battery) do people think this glider will carry before I start running into problems?

i just bought and assembled this glider, and realised that its elevator and wing are badly not aligned. is my glider defective? ...and...can it fly...?!?

Can someone tell me how the motor is mounted in the fuselage of the DG 1000 E? I am planning on using a TR 3548B. Will I have to mount another fire wall and position the motor on the 2nd firewall inside the fusealage? Thank you.
   rcgreg (67%)
Mount it from the inside so the shaft sticks through the hole in the firewall, secure it with two screws - you may to slightly increase the hole size tomatch your particular motor. Use the supplied firewall re-inforcement to add strength to the firewall.
   paulgw (72%)
Tahnk you rcqrec for your information. This will help
Sorry for the latness of my reply

Can someone tell me the dimension of the inside of the canopy ? I need to find if the DG-1000 OR ASW28 is better suit to install my equipments for FPV
   LTZEN (84%)
For FPV i would suggest the ASW28 it has a huge head, I reinforced the tray to hold my equipment it has lots of space for whatever you could think of.

my DG1000 tip stalls can someone give me Ailerion set up (max travel)+(more up than down?) Also Elavator max travel?
Graham.
   s14slide (46%)
Fly the plane faster. It's not meant to be a floater.
   Alan (76%)
IMHO* At lower speads use the rudder rather than alerons to turn as alerons can induce tipstallin certain conditions

po_au (78%)
Has anyone tried to fly this over the clouds? I have seen people flying Funjet/Easystar over clouds, would love to do that with this glider but its 1kg.. not sure if you can.
And the pilot space seem big enough for FPV system.
   Alan (76%)
How high are your clouds?

lloydgeorgenz (56%)
i was wondering what the length of the ailerions were and how close to the tips they are. i have a ventus and at moderate speed it has a really ***r roll rate, though the ailerions are moving. i put this down to the fact that the ailerions dont go even close to the tips, nearly a foot short in fact. have seen a ASW 28 go and it rolls awsome, even at high speed. am hoping the dg-1000 is same

The tip of my winglets are leaning inward instead of outward (as per instructions). Do you have the same thing?

VIRGILIOS TSARAS
Excellent plane, simple build, the well known flyflyhobby manual(one A3 paper). My setup is:
motor Turnigy 3548B 900kV, ESC 60A, prop CAM Aeronaut 12X6.5, Folding Headless Prop Spinner 38mm/4.0mm shaft, Battery ZIPPY 3s1p 3300mAh 20-30c, servo for the rudder is MG996R 55gr, 3 servos for ailerons and elevator are the D-MG16 18.8gr, receiver AR6000 SPEKTRUM.
Very good purchase. Highly recommended!
   raptor (98%)
All greetings! At me too glider DG1000. The motor costs 3548 900Kv 770W, ESC Dualsky 40A, prop Graupner 13X7 folding, turnigy tg9 (x3), rudder not used for economy of weight. The accumulator 4S1P 2650mah 20C. Perfectly catches streams. The motor is heated to 60 degrees, ESC to 50, accumulators too to 50. The maximum speed more than 100 km\h.I fly to half of gas as I am afraid to overheat the accumulator.

bonjour,

Give MORALES a point.

-Reply from MORALES (22 points)*
sorry, it's a 3542/06 motor from HC....

Farmer Ted (86%)
It's hard to tell from the picture...does this come with pushrods? It looks like there's some hardware there but I can't really tell what it consists of.
   Farmer Ted (86%)
also one more question...how does the elevator servo mount? next to the rudder servo or in the tail somewhere? If it mounts next to the rudder servo it must operate the elevator via a bell crank, correct? thanks.
   Tarmo (88%)
for elevator selvu there is simply square cutout on the left side of fin, close to tip. No bellcrank on this aircraft.
Inside the finn is emty - no servomounts, nothing, just the moulded and painted GFRP skin. You have to fabricate it yourself.
   Tarmo (88%)
And the kit includes steel pushroods with z-bends at one end of the rod. Two rods for rudder: push-pull system.

J.m. (60%)
Yeah, just like I said.

Maguro (58%)
The question concerned what a turbulator does, not what it looks like. I don't happen to have the plane. I just responded to a question.

Maguro (58%)
A turbulator is a device to "trip" the boundry layer. It causes the boundry to become turbulent and stay attached to the airfol at high angles of attack. In the case of this plane, I suspect the turbulators are out at the wing tips to help prevent tip stall.
   J.m. (60%)
You might want to go read up on that more... And learn what a turbulator looks like.

Marko (46%)
Can somebody tall me the size of the battery space in the dg-1000 - I'm interesting if in the zippy 4000 3s go in or it would be better a smaller one?
   pluto (78%)
A 3s 4000 is a bit heavy, a 3s 2500 gives good endurance with lighter weight. Good luck.
   Barbel (64%)
I use ZIPPY-H 3300mAh 3S1P 20-30C Lipoly . Very good result. Success.
   teamonyx (94%)
hello,

I don't think you need so big batteries!!!! I use ZIPPY 3S 2200 30C. with a Turnigy 3842 kv1100 and a 11X6 prop, it climbs at 150m in 9 seconds!!!! the total weight is 1500g. you can fly more than an hour with this battery.

Francis
   teamonyx (94%)
sorry, it's a 3542/06 motor from HC....
   VIRGILIOS (79%)
I use a ZIPPY 3s1p 3300mAh, a big and heavy battery. I also use a Turnigy motor 3548 900kV and still I need a little weight in the nose to manage the right CoG.
   po_au (78%)
how do you know how much battery power left when gliding?
thanks

Bonsoir, je voudrai conatcter la personne qui a déposé ce commentaire / Hello I would like to contact the person who post this comment

Francis

If you search on Youtube for DG-1000, there should be more...

J.m. (60%)
Are the wings molded or built up?
   newkid215 (89%)
The wing are balsa build with covering. A matal rod is provided (very heavy) as spar (not fiber glass as list on instruction sheet).

This stunning fibreglass moulded 2.63M...
Wing Span: 2530mm

?
   Felar Furlong (88%)
i clearly see a rudder, an elevator, and two ailerons, so it's clearly not a 3-channel.
   Ivan (87%)
This plane is from Sheng Teng (dot com) and is specified there as wingspan 2010mm, so that adds to the confusion.
   Jason5001 (4%)
No its not. Shenteng only make foam models.
It's a FlyFly model, hence the SKU FF_ in the product details.
It's moulded fibreglass fuse, with balsa wings.
   Ivan (87%)
I stand corrected.
   Helicoy (42%)
Does it will be in stock soon ?
