I changed the MOS-field-effect-transistor irfz44n. No effect so far. I can be just a little thing. A shame to throw the charger to garbage.

The manual mentioned you can choose for temp probe or usb interface.When choose usb, the manual mentioned to an seperated sold adapter cable to put in the 3 pin socket in the charger.... Annyone have the pinouts of the cable on both ends ????Mine gta6 had an nice mini usb cable, so that is plug in style, and is working great at logview, i want the same with minie accucell6!Annyone ?

I have both the Accucel 6 & the Accucel 8, the 6 is good, but I like the thermal sensor that came with the 8 - is that sensor available separately so that I can buy one for my Accucel 6?

Hi,after using almost 10 months, facing an issue inconsitant balance the Lipo duirng charging.balance charge Zippy Flighmax 3S 25C and other brand new lipo ..seem first cell cannot reach 4.00volt and 2nd cell tending to overcahnge around 4.26Volt ...any calibration needed..please advise.

Hi,
The pic shows the charger charging at 5 Amps and voltage 22.2 volts = 111 watts,
But the specification says maximum 50 Watts, which is right?
Can this charger charge 6S1p 5000mAh turnigy at 1c?

Hi folks.. I make a mistake ( a shortcut in power suply) on my Accucel-6 and I toast the BAB2CH IC on their circuit board,and now the accucel display "INPUT VOL ERR" , so, I need to replace the BAB2CH, but I search on the google and not find anything about this IC... anyone can help-me?

The manual shows an "auto" mode for nimh and nicad, how can you access this, mine will only do "man" mode and you have to set your own charge current?

you need to press enter once time to select de charging current (it will blink) in manual an then press + and - at the same time you will hear a sound that confirm you change the mode to AUT.

I am having my first issue with this charger. When I try to charge my lipo batteries, I start the process, and get to the cell count screen, then when I press start, I get a short Error. I have checked all connections, and there is no short anywhere. How can I fix this?

As far as cooling fan noise, take the top cover off drop the fan out, remove the protective tape over the bushing area. Place a drop of light oil (3and1) into the bushing, clean up any residue with alcohol, replace tape dust protector tape, reassemble and you should have solved your problem.

Oiling of the bushing worked only for a day, then the fan noise returned. I bought a new 25mm fan with ball bearing, but it is just a bit too tall to fit. It makes contact with the output bullet connectors so I may have to modify the output connectors for it to fit.
One problem that I found is with the voltage supply to the fan. It is not regulated so my 16v power supply runs the fan at 16v. I bet it is a 12v fan so that could have helped the fan die at less than two months old. They should put a label on the charger to say input voltage of ~12v instead 11 - 17 if the fan truly is a 12v fan.

I too have had the fan noise return. What I found is that a light grease like petroleum jelly works even better than the oil did. Maybe a combo of the two, the jelly and the oil is what finally cured it. I've been using the charger for a few weeks now after the fix with the Vaseline, and no noise from the bushing. I hope that does it.

I got that fan noise after ~2 hours of operation. The device was shipped in October 2009 after being on backorder (so it is probably a new batch - but still the old problem).
However, I succeeded in mending the noise by unscrewing the fan by about half a turn on each screw. This probably eased stress on the fan cage which contributed to the problem.

I just got mine last night and the only problem that I am having is when I plug in the LIPO TURNIGY 5.5 2S to the DEANS plug it gives me an error but if I do not plug it in all the way it works fine, any ideas what is going on

I received a Turnigy Accucel-6 50W 5A Balancer/Charger today and when I try to charge a 6S1P Flightmax battery it keeps giving an error. The voltage readout on cell 2 of allbatteries reads way lower than the other 5 cells. i'm sure the batteries are good so there must be a problem with my charger.

If it reads that way, your battery is bad, or at least one of the cells is. I have two batteries that i had no clue were bad( i did notice a power reduction in performance) and one that was unused and when i checked it it was about storage voltage. I charged them perfectly, even a friends Triton said the same thing, so that's just the truth, you have a bad cell. I'm sorry to hear that such a big pack is bad. hope that helps.

Fine tuning = balancing
if you balance your lipos every 3 times all cells should be equal.

I'm very happy with this charger.
I tested with my cheap voltmeter the final volatge and it seemed lower than displayed by the charger.
So i tried to calibrate it :
Hold on "ENTER" and "-" button at while powering on the charger.
The charger display something like this :
+00 VOL: x.xxV
SAVE(ENTER)
Then plug in a battery in the charging plug and you can see the voltage detected by the charger.
Now you can adjust it by pressing + or -
I just have to find a good voltmeter because i don't trust my voltmeter more than the accucel !

Bought one as support to my standard field charger (MPX LN5014). Some of the features I like (vs old charger):
+bright display easily readable in the sun.
+balancer functionality with detailed voltage display of all cells.
+faster LIPO loading without the final "trickle charge"
+store discharge, memory etc.
+nice set of connecting cables.
+low shipping weight.
-only visible drawback is the black housing, which will tend to get hotter in direct sunlight.

Just wanted to thank Hobbycity! It is not only the item, it is the service too, that impressed me. The item was shipped by ordinary parcel airmail and arrived in Bulgaria (Europe)in one week.
The item was well packed and the quality is quite decent considering the price. I haven't tried the balancing function yet!
The cable set that is included does not have a transmitter charging plug. If you intend to charge it too, don't forget to buy the AM-5001A charging harness or something like that.
I also want to thank Chinese people for making that hobby popular among people with lower incomes. I am really glad that now they have their own trade marks and there is no need to pay a double price just because of a shiny label. Not always, but in many cases. Sad, but true ...

Nice charger, not so good discharger.
Good: 1) bright display easily readable
2) balancer functionality with detailed voltage display of all cells on one screen.
3) Memory for batteries
4) USB data collection
5) Many connecting cables.
6) Cheap to buy

8) Good, easy to use menu
Bad: (reason for 4 stars)
1) Discharge function is only so so. With a 3s1p you can discharge at a maximum of .5a and with 6s1p just .2a so it can take all night just to discharge a pack.
2) Fan makes a lot of noise, this is probably due to the charge's small size they had to put a small fan that moves a lot of air to cool it down.
It is a budget charger with above budget performance, you don't need to discharge a lot of full packs get it.
Note to the review below, you need to plug in the power and balancing port at the same time to balance charge.

| That is great charger in term of value for money, try on balance mode to charge my 3S LIPO, after finish charge i use my digital meter to test, two cells was 4.20V and one is 4.19V. fantastic charger! only one problem is the cooling fan, sometime stop spinning, but it is o.k, if you have any grease, can open the fan and put on it and solve the problem. Don't miss the chance!

I ordered 2 of these chargers from HobbyCity, as I wanted a simple, easy-to-use charger for my Li-Po batteries. I found the charger very user-friendly, even though no manual is supplied with it. However, I have found a link to the charger manual here which may be useful to others:-

Having read it through, the Turnigy Accucel-6 has even more capability than I first believed just by pressing the buttons!! The balance functions work really well and much information can be obtained from the charger displays. This is a really impressive charger, all the more so given the price.

| You can balance charge two 2 or 3 cell lipos at the same time by using 2 of the balance ports. The (-) of all ports is common. Use the 2 and 4 cell port with the low lipo in the 2 and high lipo in the top (left) of the 4 port. Slice off the right hand key on the plug so it fits in the port. Use the 3 and 6 port to charge the 3 cell lipos. Then connect the cells in series and plug in. You could charge three 2 cell packs this way. Excelent charger

| Nothing yet was written about the balancer. The balancer is very accurete - each cell has the same voltage (measured with multimeter Metex) but 0,02V lower, than charger reads. So the charger shows 3,15 V at each cell after balancing, but really it has 3,13. But this is no problem and it is great charger anywas. Sorry for my english :)

| This arrived today and i must say i was very impressed, hooked it up to the imax power supply with no problems at all, charged up my cells and lipos with no worrys, even put a dud battery on it and the unit reported a "broken connection" which is exactly what was wrong with it....great unit and great price...thanks

Very good charger for the price, charges everything, has safety features. There is all protection, like short circuit, inverse polarity.
It takes about 50 minutes to balance charge my HXT D9 G2 18300mAh 3S 20-32C lipo and a lot less to charge my NiMh batteries.

It's an incredible price for the quality and the capability. Better than my Ultramat 25.
For information, the balance voltage (measured with a tuned multimeter) :
1 : 4.2108V
2 : 4.2032V
3 : 4.2007V
4 : 4.2048V
5 : 4.1870V
6 : 4.1863V
For information, the voltage has to be 4,2 ± 0,05V => [4,15 4,25].
Each cell voltage are ok.

Hi All,
I wrote the 2 star review and was wrong. The Accucel-6 Charger works great! My buddy Richard told me to plug in both plugs on my lithium battery into the charger. I did so and I get battery charging and single cell readings. I guess this is correct? A manual and battery charging wireing diagram would really help. Thanks HobbyCity, Turnigy oh, and Richard too!

zum produkt,
sehr qualitativ sehr proffesionelle bearbeitung, keine mägel nichts ist dem produkt auszusetzten.
die funktionen sind on mass! also man kann einfach alles einstellen was man will, von abkülzeit bis hin zum entlade strom einfach alles.
es sind alle möglichen kabel dabei, dir man nur gebrauchen kann einfach nur GEIL.
super helle und benutzerfreundliche anzeige, sehr einfaach die führung und konfiguration.
also bevor ich hier alles erkläre, wird eh zu viel sag ich liebe
TOP GERÄT, und für 35€ mit versand ein hammer geiles Produkt. kann locker mit den ladegeräten vn graupner oder etc. mithalten, bzw. ist von der verarbeitung sogar besser!

I bought this because I've recently started paralleling 3s packs and I wanted the option of balance charging out of the 6s port. Also going to A123s soon. It has all the usual features of multichemistry chargers, but what I like the best is:
1)User settable NiMh cutoff sensitivity. I've been tearing my hair out trying to charge my camera NiMh batteries with another (way more expensive) charger.
2)Individual cell voltage display while charging. Great for identifying sick cells before they cause a real problem like crashing your plane!
My only comment is that A123 menu is within the Lipo menu so it's not a quick change between the two, unless you use the data memory.

Just got this today in the mail I am VERY HAPPY!! THANKS HOBBY CITY!!!
I tried it on NIMH it works perfect in auto mode batteries reached 108deg!! my hyperion cooks em! I charged LIPO and measured voltage and also put it on my Hyperon to check voltages and each cell topped off at 4.17V just under 4.2V per cell perfect! better safe than sorry!! I just recently bought the hyperion EOS 6060i DC for $100.00!! I would have to say the turnigy blows the doors off the hyperion!!
Here is why:
Better LCD display 100% better blue with white letters
5 memory for batts
MV settings on NIMH and NICAD NONE ON 6060i!
beeper sounds much better
temp probe NONE ON 6060i
and the list goes on!!
way more charge modes!
Runs cooler also!!
I would have gave it 6 stars but the DC imput cord is a little to thin wire for my likings....other than that it's perfect!
