More than a mouth and no stock!!! What is hapening HK?

NOSTROMO (72%)
To HK, do you think that can be any upgrade of sofware of this (or/and others turnigy esc) to be able to use with brushed motors? like Castle Creations do with Mambas for example?

Hiya, are speed controllers such as this one OK to use just as a BEC?? I'm thinking of using without a motor on a Multiplex Fox mini Glider with elevator and aileron controls ( HXT500 servos ) and a small 2s Lipo for power.
Thanks in advance, Paul
   v_b (24%)
Why not?
   hakank (35%)
Should work as such. But why not a ***********hobbycity****/hobbyking/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=4319&Product_Name=TURNIGY_3A_UBEC_w/_Noise_Reduction instead. A dedicated BEC only 1.5gr more then the speed controller but much more powerful?
   p.chats (55%)
Thanks for that guys :-) Such thought I'd use this as I have one on hand rather than buy ( and wait for )the one you suggest there hakank... Cheers

Hi Paul,
I use this controller in a Fox conversion with the 5g BL. It works great with two servos, one for the ailerons and one for elev. I am not using the HXT500 servos though, but from the tech data it shoul dbe ok. Hope that helps,
Juergen

Love to see how yours turned out Juergen.. if poss mail me.. nellie-mac (at) clear dot net dot nz thanks for the info.

Of course you can use it only as a BEC. Just solder the motor cables.
   MrHmmm (40%)
It is possible... but is a separate BEC no better option to save some weight?
   Toņin (-109%)
It's a shame what it takes to send the articles to meet lead times tones:
   MikroHeliPilot (48%)
Yes they are. There is a linear voltage regulator on the ESC that is independent of the ESC functionality. Besides wasted weight there is nothing wrong with only using it as BEC.
   spa (45%)
Hi, it works as bec.

Can this Speed Controller, to be used with the motor ADH50XL Micro Brushless outrunner 3000kv plus 2 Micro Servo BA-TS-36 and with 2S Lipo?
   ChrisG (35%)
Yes, this ESC would be a good combination for that motor and servo's. Don't let the 0.8A BEC fool you into thinking there isn't enough amps.

I'm using this ESC on 2S with the 18-11 motor, 2 x Turnigy 1440A servo's and the HK-T6A receiver. No issues with the BEC nor is there any heat on the ESC. Go for it!
   hakank (35%)
Yes, it will certainly work. /Hkan
   skyripper (26%)
should be fine as long as you don't over prop the motor.with 4 or 5 inch props it draws under 4amps i'm using mine with 3 2.5 gram servos sold here and all works great.
   Toņin (-109%)
It's a shame what it takes to send the articles to meet lead times tones:
   MikroHeliPilot (48%)
Yes it can but the max engine current might get close to the limit of the ESC. Eventuall strip the shrink tube for better cooling of the three FETs (SO8 case). The two micro servos plus receiver are no problem for the BEC.

Hello HC. Why this 6g part plus a plastic bag is punished with almost 30g for shipping?
   MrHmmm (40%)
Because you need a cardboard box to transport it in :) (or a piece of it if you bought more)

Does this controller come w/ a mini-JST plug presoldered?
   Steve (50%)
No, it has bare wire on both the battery and motor sides. The included battery side wires are HUGE for a 6A esc and can be replaced easily to save some weight. I also shortened the rather long RX wire and the result was about 4.5 gram total weight. This controller is great* if they would just get more in stock.
   maukabud (52%)
Thanks Steve for that excellent info! Glad I ordered some mini jst pigtails as well.
   hakank (35%)
Mine was delivered without any plug /Hkan
   Ierwin (48%)
Like all turnigy escs Ive had so far, this does not have any plugs preinstalled.

Where can I find the manual for the Plush 6A ESC? Pierre's link doesn't work, even when I fill in the obvious parts.

I'd love to be able to decode the beeps this ESC makes when I power it up!

Can I use this controller with toki bio 1 gr servo? I plan to give my plane a TGY DC 5 gr motor, with 1S lipo and 2 toki servos

Thanks, Benny CAC
   kapel (67%)
Benny,
I got one in case it works with 1S lipo. But, t didn't work. Always, it gave beep..beep..beep sound. When I readed it's mean, learned voltage is not enough. It works with 2S lipo excelent. For your information

i am putting together a 160gram model. i have a JR 5gram receiver, 3 6gram micro servos, and now im looking for a motor and esc. i was thinking i want as much thrust as i can get with my 2s 300mah lipo battery. what combinations are people using? thanks ! david

I use TURNIGY 2204-14T 19g Outrunner with it. My plane weights about 120g and hovers at about half throttle on a fresh charged battery.
   worldedit (67%)
btw, i use the cheap 8x3.8 props sold here.

Okay, guys ** watch yersef when you go to use this ESC with high KV motors, like 2000 and above. The spec calls for some high revving capability, but the control seems to lose sync at high speeds and can't even get some motors to start spinning. I used a Hextronic 1811-2000 (product ID 5358) on 2S and it was okay* under 3S the motor won't spin right. I tried it with some other motors and got similarly flakey results.

The 8A Super Simple (ID=6455) is far better at syncing high revvers.
   T.rex.450 (51%)
I run this ESC on a Turnigy 1230 Mini gearbox system 4500kv and I do not have problems with sync loss. But it can be hard to start sometimes, it cogs and then I have to spin the propeller a little bit.
   Marty (63%)
Yeah, I have suffered problems with some of the Turnigy stiff cogging motors no matter what ESC I use, but this particular ESC seems to be more susceptible to these errors than others I have tried. Perhaps some farting about with the timing will prove helpful...maybe later.

didan (91%)
Will this ESC work with three HXT500 5g servos on 2S?
Anyone used it with three or more servos?

Thanks.
   didan (91%)
I found out that the Turnigy 6A ESC will work with three, even with four HXT500 Servos on 2S on a light plane!
   worldedit (67%)
Works on my plane too. Flying hard 3D.

pierre, I couldn't find the manual at that link, even after replacing the stars with the obvious URL stuff. Anyone have a current link to the manual for the Plush 6A ESC?

I need to decode the beeps coming from the ESC when it powers up.

pr1100 (67%)
I lost the documentation of this controler. I need to activate the break function. Could you tell me how to do it ?
Thanks.
Pierre.

Hello.
Does it work in 1S (for sure without BEC)?

   webber (98%)
It will work, however I would not recomend to use it with a 1S lipo, it performs perfectly with 2S and I use it with a 3S battery the weight/power ratio is awesome here.
   ishady (63%)
Thanks Webber for confirming a 3S lipo use.
   chofmann2 (65%)
I have set the battery selection to NiCad and the cutoff voltage to 0% for the Turnigy Plush 6A in an attempt to use it with one LiPoly cell. Does not work, just gives the low voltage alarm: beep, beep, beep. Anybody have suggestions for getting one cell operation? Greg
