I'm searching for a cyclic servo alternative to HXT900. I've crashed my CoperX and my HXT900 servo gears all been broken. So I wanted to change them to metal geared ones. Do you recommend this servo? Its price is very good also. I've seen another under $5 servo Corona 929MG, but I've read some MOSFET problem in discussion section.

I need a good cheap servo like HXT900 but metal geared version. Thats all.
   TIGRE (12%)
Lo estoy utilizando desde algo mas de un mes y no he tenido problema alguno.
   goodwill (36%)
This servo is excelent.
Use it with 2000mm wingspan hotliner.
plenty of power and as well usable as replacement for HXT900 - at least in planes.
gear got a little play. hxt900 has none.
for a small copter the D922MG might be a better choice: faster, digital, lighter and no gear play.
   hohenheim (59%)
I've ordered 3 already. I will give it a try.
   tano (67%)
I highly recomend it. It's very powerfull servo and almost unbreakable.
   Bernd (72%)
Yes it's fine, only 1 of my 3 failed after two flights, tried to repair it without success. What I can really recommend is MG14 - very fast and strong. BTW you might want the extra gear set for HXT900 (only 1 $).
   Lanell (55%)
Yes, read the discussions and reviews mostly good reviews.

Looking for a good cyclic servo for the Blade 400. How does this compare to the Hextronic MG-14? Looks more sturdy than the HXT900. I'm looking for cyclics only at this point.
   Moccia (3%)
Ottimo servo, prestazioni superiori al Hitec 55, molto resistente e preciso, il meglio per questo prezzo.
   catrafly (100%)
they are smaller than the MG-14s, all working very well (30 flights), no issues so far.
   Bernd (72%)
MG14 is faster* and better built, spent the extra 3$ and you wont regret.
   Lanell (55%)
The reviews have been good on it and I have 6 on the way. I have read that they don't center the best, have some minor slop but overall good servo for cyclic and gears can be put in HXT900 but the top cap has to be changed bearing is higher. I will expound when mine arrive.

Hey, do these servos have the same spline as a HS56HB? I want to use one on my RC18.

Can i Use these on my 450 on the tail and on the swash??
   Manoel-SC (36%)
yes prefect for hk 450 swash and tail..
   Maccanaut (21%)
Yes.....u can. These are fine on both cyclic and the tail. Fast enough for the tail and very suitable for cyclic. I run these on 2 of my helis. One is the HK450GT and they perform flawlessly.
   The1CZ (64%)
you can use them anywhere on HK450*)
   Maccanaut (21%)
The MG90s is a faster servo than the MG90 and is quite suited for the tail. I also use them on cyclic and they perform very well on my HK450GT and same on my HK250GT.
   helicoptero (25%)
not this servo is too slow for that function, look for a faster
   angel1 (58%)
I would not use on tail but fine for swash
   troll32 (32%)
no,too big case... use 9gr servo for 450 hxt900 is ok
   dkircali (66%)
can be used on the swash but not recommended as a tail servo
   Graham Daniel (43%)
There's a bit of deadband in these, but great gears. I'd check out the corrona ones, they are much much tighter deadband, on a par with digital performance but without the hype and current.
   Peter (67%)
im using it on a hk 450
   troll32 (32%)
hello you can but it's not the best one for the tail... a little bit too slow take a ds480 for the tail for example
   jbeauvil001 (28%)
you can use them on the swash but they are not fast enough to use on the tail.
   kartman69 (60%)
For the swashplate,it's OK but for the tail a digital servo has a quicker response
   Lanell (55%)
I have read both yes and no, the particular say not for tail servo okay for cyclic. Other's say they have tried for all and are happy, I have 6pcs. on the way EMS and I will use 4pcs. HK 450MT for my friend cause he crashes a lot.

joe: are you using them on 6V ?
   Peter (40%)
no, just on 4,8 V
   Manoel-SC (36%)
yes i using 6 or 5v
   canus (82%)
yes no probleme on 6v
   TunderThiger (29%)
they work till 7.4 volts
   angel1 (58%)
Dont use these on 6 volts 4.8-5.2 maximum

Just wanted to let you guys know, I installed these servos on my HK450 Pro. Mine are fast, I have zero noise and no slop. Maybe there was a bad batch that some of you guys got but I have over 50 flights and 2 nasty crashes and all the servos are holding up strong. I even went as far as buying the big brother of these for my 500 heli, the MG930's.
   Moccia (3%)
Ottimo servo, prestazioni superiori al Hitec 55, molto resistente e preciso, il meglio per questo prezzo.
   Lanell (55%)
I'm going to do the same, thanks!

Those servoes are digital or analog
   Manoel-SC (36%)
analog
   Peter (40%)
only analog
   Maccanaut (21%)
Theyre analog as far as i know. I think u can get a digital version but not these.
   hpipro4 (45%)
analog but tends to tweak..like a glitch rather than that its quick.
   sapmaster (27%)
Analog one.
   DobX1 (44%)
This one is an analog Servo
   jbeauvil001 (28%)
analog
   Marco (45%)
Analog!
   hwagener (46%)
Analog, of course, for that price... But metal gear
   Moccia (3%)
Ottimo servo, prestazioni superiori al Hitec 55, molto resistente e preciso, il meglio per questo prezzo.
   Lanell (55%)
Analog servos.

Tried 2 of these servos in an Electrifly EP-Su31, elevator, and rudder, works ok, but.... too much play in the gears. When you move the horn with your fingers, there is a noticeable amount of play in the geartrain.
Also, very noisy operation, again, could be the gears/motor.

Good price, appear to be digital, but I wouldn't use them in my heli because of this.
Will be changing them out of the aircraft for the HXT 900
   Burnaby (71%)
Is the noise complaint a potential mechanical issue? or just plain noise which would be silly for obvious reasons.
   biggbear (83%)
2010/04/11
Noise is "gear train" noise, possibly could use some extra lubrication on the gears.
That being said, I did leave these on the aircraft to see how they perform over time, and, so far, have been working fine. Have them on rudder/elevator, HXT 900's on the ailerons, approximatly 50-75 flights since installation, (never seem to get enough time to fly!)
As for the play in the geartrain, still wouldn't use these in a heli because of this. But, thats just personal preference.

Do these servo's fit the HK450 on the cyclic? And are these cheap alternatives for the hitec hs65mg, or are these far worse than those?
   dmulligan (65%)
This servo appears to be the same size as the Hextronic MG-14, also sold here at HC, is known to fit in the HK450 and is favoured for use in the hk450 by many at rcgroups.
   japie22 (49%)
Is it an big improvement compared to the hxt900's?
   rapghsi (80%)
Yes, Faster Stronger Less deadband.
   Ulrich (80%)

Dieses Servo übertrifft alle Erwartungen!!! Es arbeitet absolut stellgenau, schnell und kraftvoll. Ich habe es in meinem Hubi HK 450 verbaut und es lauft suuuuuuuper!!!!
   Maccanaut (21%)
Yes they fit no problems but of course theyre not as good or as smooth as the hitec hs65mg.
But look at the price difference!
Nothing wrong with these at all. :-)
