Who said Deans are produced in USA! Deans Company can of course produce their connectors whereever they like. You have used Dean plugs too long to understand that they belong to the graveyard. I came to my senses and so can you.

Sorry Mal .. you've misunderstood me, my comment was purely indicative that many RC parts and equipt. is now manufactured and sourced from China, possibly including US designed Deans plugs, although I don't know that that's true or not. However I fully intend to remove all the Deans plugs from my LiPos and ESCs and replace with the far superior, IMHO, EC3 type. Especially as the HobbyKing version is far cheaper than Deans ever were.

It was a copyright infringement problem. Dean's lawyers got after the Chinese company making the copies and stopped them from making them. I'm wondering if the E-Flite/EC3 style will be next.

Hope not ... Glad I've bought 3 x 10pr packs already. Probably good insurance so I can remove the creaky old Deans from my gear and replace them with far superior EC3s!!!

I think it is because alot of aircraft come with ec3 plugs and, i've seen it from working in a hobby store, not very many people can solder very well. Or mabye the ec3 is cheaper, or it was a desicion on the companies part(Zippy) and not the distibutors(Hobby city). Lawyers?
