Why don't hk sell the .40? We need it for (slow)q500
nicohaas (1 points) 11/20/2009
Does anybody know howmany revs this engine (.21, 3,5 cc) makes with a apc 7*6?
blueyee (12 points) 8/11/2009
what size of ASP engine that i need to run a trainer plane with 1600mm wingspan and 2300gram weight?
  Reply:  ergocentric (98 points);
.46 cubic inches would be good (.52 seems a bit big)
for a trainer I would recommend a large flat prop to keep the max speed down, maybe 12x4 inches
  Reply:  blueyee (12 points);
thanks for the info man!! i am considering between ASP .52 and OS .46AX since they both have similar output power.
  Reply:  chapier61 (27 points);
Sorry, ergocentric, I have a trainer 35 dm2 and 2,450 kgs which fly very well with an OS .20 FP (yes, bronze bearing and point twenty !) and a 9 x4 Graupner prop. If the OS can do it an ASP with twin ball bearing and a 2nd generation carburator can do it too much better: don't forget we speak of trainer that cannot be over motorized !
  Reply:  Sergey (0 points);
It will be good .40 .46 .52 for the trainer. Prop 11*7 11*6. Other combinations is not so good.
My first trainer flyes with .52 and 11*7 prop very good and not over powered.
You can try some base aerobatics with this combination. You will make you own deision when get some experience.
  Reply:  ergocentric (98 points);
Yes, chapier61, it will fly, but will it fly inverted?
This is a good size engine for beginning aerobatics as well.

Sergey: the reason for a large diameter, low pitch prop is to slow the trainer down yet allow plenty of power to get out of bad situations.

what's spinner can i use?
  Reply:  ergocentric (98 points);
a two inch spinner would not be too large on a 1/12th scale combat warbird.

really depends on your aircraft more than the engine.
rsieminski (72 points) 6/7/2009
What rpm numbers are you getting with what prop? How does it compare to the new, blue headed .15?
mwilhelm100 (0 points) 5/19/2009
Is this motor suitable for RC buggies ?
  Reply:  Kapitan-Panika (31 points);
this is aircraft engine. To use in car you need to modernise it
  Reply:  rsieminski (72 points);
You would not need to modernize it. It just wont work. The engines for cars are totally different. Car engines are designed to spin at a very high rpm, and to run on high nitro, and low oil. The porting is totally different. In comparison to a full size automobile, the RC car engine is stuck in 1st gear, and the RC airplane engine is in 2nd or 3rd. This is a great aero engine, just not good for cars. You have to buy one designed for cars.

HELP to HC staff,
As the above inquery: will it work with regular OS glow plug A3 or A8 ?
  Reply:  rcmodelreviews. (224 points);
Yes, an OS#8 would be the best choice though.

....................so am i.
JelleB (234 points) 4/24/2009
Does anyone have an equivalent power rating (in Watts) for this motor? That would allow for objective comparison with other engines.
  Reply:  Malfamartin (335 points);
I "stole" this nice info from Turbobeaver, so please give him many points.
I think this is what you asked for JelleB!
