is this adhesive strong enough for the leading edge of a heli? i was thinking of combining several colors along the edge and use an msr battery at the end of each blade. i figured 1.5' of lights at about 5g added per blade
   nomedmon (53%)
they hold on to depron and foam petty good and i do hard 3d plane stunts it's 3m backing so on a canopy and boom should hold... but on blades i dont think they would be safe.
   tigar (50%)
do not use it on a blade. It is strong enough but it will ruin the aerodynamics of the blade
   Fusion (73%)
No way man. It will fly off in no time.

Does this just plug into a spare Receiver chanel?

If it does, can it go in the "Battery" port on a Spektrum Receiver?
   Viper DaSnake (17%)
no, these are for 12VDC - the "Battery" port is 5VDC
   BillH (49%)
So where do I plug it in?
   Pierluigi (63%)
Hi, you can't plug this into the receiver, it needs 12v to work. You can plug it in the balancer plug of a 3S Lipo pack (the two outer connectors, negative and last positive) if you have one aboard.
Ciao!
   doh2doh (74%)
I plug mine into the balance connector on my battery.
   navgamma (20%)
no connector for that, but i didnt try, most probably u can if there is a few leds, i would suggest using the balance plug instead.
   DJ FERRAZ (68%)
i`m using all the 4 colors in a trainer (nexstar) man that`s rock, blue and white beside and green and yelown above the plane, just using a one lipo batt 3s 1100 , and all the led flex soldering in one plug, pluged direct in the batt. in dont plug it direct in spektrum receiver.
   tigar (50%)
it needs 8v to 12v, so no rx output will no be enough. You can use a small 2s or 3s battery.

rulcy (47%)
Does it require a seperate battery? For instance, 1 for motor/esc output & 1 for the lights only? If it sticks into 1 batt that fires the motor/esc & lights, will that burn the esc or motor or some kind? Do i need a resistor of some some sort? Please advice.
   nismo200sx16 (20%)
it does not require a separate battery on 2s 0r 3s lipo. I have used them on my epp plane connected to the balance plug on both 2s and 3s. I have noticed no difference in flight times. if you use more than 3s lipo you would need to add a resistor to bring the voltage back down to 12v. the lights will not hurt the motor or esx in any way.
   timebit (56%)
no you can use just one battery for all, don't need a resistor ... just plug and play on a 3s cell. greetings
   Barndog (42%)
If you put it on a meter of it on a plane using a 1000ma battery or greater you will not notice much change in flight time. Just wire the led strip directly to your battery plug(deans connector) in front of the speed contol.
   Thomas (18%)
I have been connecting these to the balancing port on the same batteries I use during flight. Only a minor decrease in actual flight time.
   tigar (50%)
you can draw power from your motor battery if it is 2s or 3s. Just solder 2 wires at the esc plug

Tobby (85%)
Are these LEDs waterproof?

   nismo200sx16 (20%)
no they are not waterproof. exposed connections on the board
   adam74 (31%)
is the Led strip it self water proof? looks like a nice cheap way for under car lighting.
   AlFu (53%)
No.
Tobby asket at all possible LED-Stripes.
None of the Stripes are wather proof.

You have tho seal them.
The easiest way is to put them in an transparent shrinking tube and seal the End.

hey is there an alternative source of power rather then a battery???? i want to try to decorate my house with it.....
   nismo200sx16 (20%)
yes you can use any ac adapter from around 7v dc to 12v dc.
   Him (52%)
Hi, you can also use an 12V adapter e.g.: ***********hobbycity****/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=6256 KR Him

It says that 1 meter of these leds consumes 400mah. I will have almost 3 whole strips on my plane so does that mean one 1300 3s battery should last me about an hour?
   Eric1180 (-53%)
Yes it should last you about 1 hour. But if you have room and are able to carry the extra ounce you can get a brushed ESC and dial it down so it's not so bright and saves battery. Also being able to TURN IT UP :) when you get father away is kinda nice so you don't go blind before you even start flying. ***********hobbycity****/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=9090

Desmond (79%)
do we need to get any driver to power this thing? of just plug to lipo?
   Alain (88%)
Plug it direct to 12 volts, so, 3S lipo will be just fine...... 2S works, but light will be less bright (but still a lot of tight)

If you look at those at dusk, you see nothing around you for few seconds... :)
   Him (52%)
Hi Desmond, just plug to a max. 3S LiPo or use an 12V adapter. Thats it. KR Him
   helimaster (52%)
There's no need for the driver Desmond just plug it directly to 7v battery or 12v up .If you use 12v the illumination is much brighter.

Eric1180 (-53%)
cool but it seams a little pricey
   Jason5001 (4%)
Not really.
60 LED's, 20 resistors all soldered to a flexible PCB with 3M adhesive backing.
The price seems spot on.

   Eric1180 (-53%)
i thought this was a add on to the other led system. So this is its own thing.
   helimaster (52%)
yes this thing run on its own you can cut it to min 3 strips or led
