Does anyone have the physical sizes or has installed into a JR 9XII . I would prefer to mount internally rather than use the JR module.
   Saurabh (98%)
Hi, I do have this installed in my Futaba 6EX. Unfortunately, I have not taken the specs of it. Now it is inside and I cannot take the measurements. Trust me, it is very small and would surely fit into any tx. I am pretty sure it will fit in your 9XII. Just ensure you have the PPM signal before buying. All the best.

I have JR DSX7 (already 2,4 GHz but DSMJ system). I would like to hack it with ASSAN because dsmj receivers are very expensive. Anyone knows if JR DSX7 is possible to hack? I tried to hack by Corona but can not bind, maybe module was broken...
   Saurabh (98%)
Hi Pawel. I am going to be honest with you. I have not seen this radio that you have, but I have heard good about it. For fixing this module/hack, you need to have a PPM board/signal. Most of the FM radios have separate board for RF and PPM signal. Hence, it becomes easy to install on those tx. But in 2.4 Ghz, it may happen that the PPM circuit and the RF circuit may be on the same board. So, Unless you open your tx and check from the inside, it will be difficult to comment. I suggest, you open the tx and check if the RF board and PPM board are different, and if you can trace the PPM signal wire. If yes, then you can surely convert your tx using this hack... All the best and hope this helps.
Cheers!!!
Saurabh.

I have the hitech eclipse 7ch, will this unit work for my tx, and will it let me bind with the dsm2 receivers?
   Saurabh (98%)
Yes, it will work with Hitec as well.. but you may have to buy the receivers for this. I have not tested, but it may not be compatible with DSM2 receivers

Is it possible to also retaining 35Hhz? Because it would need both frkvence?
   Saurabh (98%)
Yes, there are many plans which are available to save both the frequencies. Actually all you need to do is to install a dpst toggle switch, to switch frequencies. On the flip of the button the tx will change to 2.4Ghz and another flip will make it 35Mhz. Hope this helps.

   claser (75%)
Yes, just add a DCDP lock switch during the hack instalation. You can see how if you search in the Google: Assan hack for futaba T6EX.

How reliable is this module?? I would like to be installed in Futabo 6EX 35Mhz. What kind of model you fly with this module?
Thanks
   Saurabh (98%)
This is just too good. I have been flying on Assan module for the last 3 years without even a GLITCH. range is quite decent. Comparable to any other 2.4 Ghz module like Futaba or JR. Just close your eyes and buy... trust me .. you will not regret. !!!

Cheers!!!

Hi ! I completly satisfied with this Assan kits. The hack module is made for oem internal installation. I have an optic 6 transmitter with Assan tx module, and bought this hack module for my futaba 3pm. I put inside the transmitter case and used a switch on the ppm input pin, with this solution i can switch between the 35mhz and the assan 2.4 ghz anytime. Regards, Gabor Rajnai Hungary

Motrax (85%)
Can anybody tell me what is the capacitor in the bag for ? Thanks, Marco.
   Saurabh (98%)
Capacitor is to supress the surges in case of electric motors. You may not require it if you are using this on Gas or Nitro engines.
Capacitor needs to be plugged into any free receiver slot. If there is a sudden dip in the voltage due to excessive demand from any servo or motor, the capacitor will dampen the surge by discharging. This will prevent the voltage to fall below to a low level and making the reciever safe.
   al (78%)
it stores power in case of an instantanious power failure from your battery pack, allowing your system to continue for a few seconds without battery power. That is how it was explained to me. It plugs into a rec. connection that is not being used and stores power while your power is turned on.
   claser (75%)
Yes,Voltage Protector

Voltage Protector prevents a receiver's voltage from dropping below the proper operating level in lower voltage applications.
Installation is as simple as plugging it into an open channel slot on the receiver unit.
   claser (75%)
The capacitor is used for to prevent the voltage not drop below the necessity of the hack and loose control.

I have a futaba 7cap with internal module, install another module and I like my new futaba 8fg. This station is not modular and does not emit in ppm can be installed inside???,
   Saurabh (98%)
NO Sir. This module will work only with PPM systems. Tx which do not have a separte RF module will not work with this module as they have integrated PPM signal
   claser (75%)
In my concern the Assan hack can only be used with a PPM Tx.

This hack should work on any modern transmitter. You just need to find the Signal line, + and - that's it. You are not really using the radio's board, you are removing that completely. Some are not as they use in conjunction which is a violation actually according to the FCC. Assan made this to be a replacement for the radio not in conjunction with the radio. How do I know, I have spoken with Assan and with the FCC and both have stated this.

Bonjour,

j aimerais mettre ce module dans ma 3010 de multiplex et pouvoir basculer avec l aide d un interrupteur du 41 au 2.4. J'aimerais aussi garder ma prise ecolage libre.

Avez vous des conseils me donner?

GLIDER90
   Framer (69%)
Cela ne pose pas de probleme. Un exemple:
***********rcgroups****/forums/showthread.php?t=994433&page=42&highlight=3030#post14290924

i.ve read somewhere that any PPM Tx can be converted and that 99% of Tx's are PPM. what about AM Tx's? I've got a 7 or 8 Ch JR Propo Pulse S am Tx that i'd like to convert. has a seperate signal module inside with 4 wires going to it. but i see no CPU on the main board and it's fairly basic in contruction. anyone got any idea's how long PPM has been a standard in Tx's? Thanks

Erik Mayer (56%)
Hello, for what do i need the condenser?
Thanks Erik.

   Beaufighter (-25%)
The capacitor is there to even out voltage, so that there should be no cutoffs if there is a small dip in supply voltage (I'm expecting that it is the capacitor you mean. A condenser is used to condense gases into liquids, and not a normal thing used in rc)
   Joxson (56%)
hi! Its for overvoltage, but you dont need it! I havent used it!
   sorenlaf (58%)
In american english, "condenser" is an arguably obselete synomym for capacitor, though it's still in common use in the automotive world.

Mayer's usage is correct, though perhaps archaic.
   NumnutChriS (36%)
It is intended to be plugged into any free channel of your Rx to prevent brownouts. You probably wont need it unless running 1S apps or an improper setup (like wrong cut-off settings, ***r/discharged battery, too much electronics without powerbox etc.)
   Saurabh (98%)
if oyu are using this on electric plane / heli. just plug the condensor in any free slot of the rx. it will damp the surge.
   Gabor (34%)

Does X8D 2.4GHz trainer port works on Futaba 6EX 2.4Ghz also.
   NumnutChriS (36%)
Yes - You can use it with any futaba with the square buddybox connector on the rear but requires some work. Shorten pins 4-5 and connect to module plus (to run the Tx as slave - dont use the regular Tx on-off switch) and get the PPM from pin 3, Pin 2 is GND. (There might be a supply voltage issue on eg. T8FG as they use 6cell NiMh.) Look around on eg. rcgroups, there is a huge assan thread.

Anyone got this hack working in a Sanwa/Airtronics Stylus yet? Thanks
   Saurabh (98%)
i have a friend with sanwa and it works PERFECT
   Gabor (34%)
It is work all ppm transmitter. You need to install inside the transmitter (almost all have enough space for it) But you need some soldering expertise. Just connect power cables and a ppm input pin to your transmitter's PCB and drill a hole for the external antenna. I'ts easy if you can find out where those connection points on the PCB.

Dear brsfnet, Go ahead and buy one go to rcgroup site you will find almost all type of radio modification. you can ask the help of any electrician to find the 3 wires to be joined. your radio is FM and it will work with fm radios. I was afraid too till yesterday, you can see my post below. but I did it with so ease , I think any one can do it. Just go to the rc group web site and search for your type radio or if you dont find then open you TX and compare with other futaba models shown there Best of Luck. ***********rcgroups****/forums/showthread.php?t=994433&page=1

this is full range modul?
   Jiri (73%)
Of course, but it depends also on used receiver. On land, thew range is over 300m with any receiver, up to 1,2 km with V series recivers. On air, the range is fully satisfied. For carbon fuselage, antena must be outside, therefore long antenas are required. For EPPs, any receiver with short antenna is okay.

I've received yesterday this hackmodule and I'm wondering what to do with the Electrolytic Capacity which is delivered with this module.
Where should I connect it?
   Jiri (73%)
It is optional item. It can be used with any Assan receiver to protect it before BEC voltage fluctuation. Simple plug it into any available servo or bat position, if you detect problems.

Hi Jiri,

Thanks for your reply. If I understand you well I have to connect it to a free channel on the receiver when I notice problems with BEC voltage fluctuations?

Thanks.
   Jiri (73%)
Exactly. You can use either any free chanel pinns, or battery pins, if you are using ESC with BEC. Lot of Assan receivers have separate battery pin.

I have installed this module in Sanwa (Airtronics in USA) RD 6000 sport and RD 6000 Super transmitters. It works fine in all. You need to ensure that the gear and flap limits are set to 100% or less or it will try to bind each time you switch on.

the moment you switch on the tx move channel 2 up and down. the light on the module will start blinking.
then insert the bind plug into the rx to be binded and switch on the rx.
keep the rx and tx xlose (within 1 meter) and the tx will bind to rx. SIMPLE !!!

Does anyone know if I can use this unit with Futaba 4EXA 4-Channel FM. and what is the different between fm and ppm radio.
   rcmodeler (89%)
FM is just the transmission band you are using. PPM is how the signal is modulated within that band. Most modern radios use PPM. Yes, this will work in the 4EXA with no problem. Can wire it right to the connections on the trainer port and remove the FM crystal.
