Has any one received a new Improved unit. I want to get this but not with the problems the old one had. But i haven't seen any new reviews.

I can confirm that I have received the new unit. It is smaller and brighter. Not quite as bright as the Align driver, but still considerably brighter than the original. The switch still works the same.

A small indoor flyer only has room for one glow wire. It would probably fly ok carrying the weight of one, also. Indoors in the dark, yea. Think I'll burn the controller?

Mine glitched. I put a ferrite ring on the voltage input (like what you see here: ***********hobbycity****/hobbycity/store/catalog/TR-UBEC15.jpg )
This is no where near as bright as my Align Drive/Glow wire setup. I had one dead wire, out of 6. Other than glitching, I didnt have any issues with the driver...

Mine, like many others have reported only lights up one glow wire (other port faulty).Does this mean I will suffer premature failure on the working port and can I have a 50% refund, lol?

The Align version with 2 cold light strings uses about 100mah. These glow wires are much dimmer. If the light output is any indication, I would say these consume about 25 or 30mah. The glow wires are much brighter using the Align driver, although I haven't tried it for more than a few seconds.

Is it only powered by the receiver or can it be switched on/off by remote?
|
|

It's only powered by the receiver or batteries. As you can see on picture only two wires go to receiver + and -. If it were three wire you could on/off by remote.

Good thought. I'd be willing to a little more for a version that could be controlled via the radio. Perhap Jason could suggest this the maker.

If you use a receiver battery , you can add a 3-wire switch harness for On-Off. Receiver is just a male plug source for the driver between flight battery and lights.

Yes, you can. Just dont overload your Rx with too many on one channel.

Jason5001

No Manual. No need for a manual, it's a no-brainer. The jumper is to change to 8V for people who want to run it off a battery directly. When run off a battery directly up to 8v the glow wire is brighter.
