Can I use this motor for my pocket bike? I'm concerned that this motor is fit to R/C plane. If I use this for electric powered bike, ANY problem will occur?

I JUST GOT THIS MOTOR.PLA N TO USE ON A PRECISION AEROBATICS MX EXTRA WITH A TURNIGY 80 AMP PLUSH 2X 3S 3000MAH AND A 14X7 PROP. WHAT TIMING SHOULD I USE?
   Tille (50%)
Hi, I use mine with a low timing which seems the best for me. A timing of about 1 deg gives a bit less rpm but a slightly increased efficiency factor compared to a 15 deg timing. Cheers

I have used this motor with a 6s 2650 pack and a 15x8 apc prop on a 2.2kg plane 80amp speed control and the plane was very fast, I got 5min run time.I have used 4s 4000 pack with a 14x12 apc and get good performance and 9-10 min run time doing aerobatic flying. I also used a 13x8 on 5s 3600 and got 10min flight. A great motor.
   bill (32%)
try the timing on high you should find it very good
   (AMC) (50%)
Michael I'm running with a MAS 12x8 on 6 cells and a Turnigh 80amp ESC. Everything is very smooth. If your using a Soinner take it off and try. This longish motor doesn't like added weight. If using a Spinner install the motor with a supporting mount
   fred martin (87%)
Amen to AMC's comment re:"longish motor". The mounting plate is fairly light/flexible, the motor is long, add a spinner up front and vibration/harmonics problems occur. Next time I'll consider mounting the motor turned around and use a collet type prop adapter.

Anyone had a problem with motor pulsing at speed ?
I am running a 12x8 E PROP on 6s lipo and when I get above 1/2 throttle the motor pulses on off very badly, I cannot get it to run smoothly above around 7000 rpm. Ihave tried 3 differnt speed controllers and different timing settings but all are the same result.
   Aureo (67%)
How about try 13x8 prop?
   bill (32%)
Try uping the timing to high this should help
   Soren (30%)
I have not received my motor yet (so much for "shipping within 24 hours") so I can't say anything about this specific motor. However, another (smaller) motor of the same brand had a similar problem: power went from Great to Zip in 0-2000 flat. No idea what caused it. Tried like you to change ESCs, batteries, receivers, installed SBEC. Nothing worked. It's now a paper weight! Hope it's not a trend!

I installed this engine several times with a 16 x 6 Turnigy ,Turnigy 4000 6 lipo and a controller Economic King HH-60-70 Amp, running at 8000 rpm with 22 volts 60 amperes peak Over 2.2Hp for 10 sec, 6800 rpm 22 volt 50 amperes continuos service, very very good Motors.no problem

I use these I some Kyosho 50 series fighters & they work well.

Would a pair of them be a good choice for a Hangar 9 84" B-25J Mitchell?
   Mauricio D (79%)
yes, you bet
   mario_begni (32%)
pair at 4260 500 Kv is a great choice of 4 Hp potenza.con 14x7 three blade and lipo 6 x 5000 Turnigy, 60 70 amp HH regulator,Mario

Hi

I am looking for a 90 4strk twin replacement. Will this one do the job?
   dt8666@msn.com (69%)
Depends on the prop size you are going to drive. I was using it with Master Airscrew 3 blade 14x7 and also thr Trunigy Cherry wood 16x8. Both running fine on 6S with good power. Use that on the Cessna 337 with Twin motor. it draws about 25A to Max 50A

I've had the SK4260-500 in my VQ Tomhawk for about 3 months. Last week after a normal flight I noticed (actually felt) the prop adapter was extremely hot (135 degrees F) the motor still runs great but that much heat worries me. has anyone else had this happen?

How do you think this would work in a 500 size Heli. I have the gearing for the motors rated kv.
   buana-la (45%)
I Think the motor is to heavy for a 500 heli size

Would this one (TGY 1450) the correct choice?
   stuart (84%)
NO ITS NOT,TOP FLIGHT CORSAIR is about 7to 8 lbs and the weight of electric motors are considrably less, look at the 50 55 580 kv or larger.
