I have read many article about Setting up HH but a lot of confusion. At last I have got the solution and managed to set My Trx and this gyro to HH mod. I take back my word from previous statement. GA-410 and Corona Syn 8C35mhz and Imax-9x matched. Video next time. Setup see: Gyro Sens

Even though I managed to set My Trx and GA410, the tail still wags little bit. I use HXT9311BB servo (SSV-9311BB)for the tail. When advance throttle faster,the tail swing to turn head to left, made me a bit shaky!. Anybody who SAID this gyro was rock solid could tell us what SERVO are you using...any original video?

Since nobody reply, today is my last attempt to prove this gyro is HH but FAILED(disaster). My heli crashed 4 times already and the problem is still the same. It is more stable in normal mode flight and hovering. I have to get other new brand gyro. I have practiced on simulator almost every day! What can I say? Now I beleived on what other friends complaints about this gyro.. Good friend helps others.... :{

I have tested this gyro(combination of Imax-9Ch(Trx), Corona 8Ch 35Mhz(Rx), 4000kv motor, GA-410, 4pcs HXT900 servos). The result is not HeadLock and crash twice. HXT900 servo not last long about 30min life. Corona 8Ch not match with GA-410.... here pic of the setting I have done: HH setup

I tried this gyro with Imax9c RX not working(led blinking red). After I received Corona 8C 35mhz, connect it to this gyro it initialized, steady red led on and the led lite off after 3sec (probably TRX setup normal mod). Shake the tail, the tail servo move too. For Original Imax Rx, set back the Imax Trx to CPM. The gyro will initialise. For Corona set Imax Trx to PPM. I did not find the LED light on when gy is set to AVS mod. But the servo responds to the movement of the tail... and also I can adjust the gain from Trx...

How to reset factory settings in GA410 gyro? The issue with mine is that I'm not able to switch it to the HH mode ( led ON), I have Eclipse 7 transmitter and led is ON only when Gyro is between 47 -51 then above 51 led is off and below 47 it is off. Is it possible that Gyro is broken becouse when initiated it in normal mode ( below 50) I switch it to the 90, whenI do this the led is on but nothing works , please advice how to reset this gyro or bring back factory settings, thanks a lot

Great ! Just received the new GA410 PRO version ! It as Delay and Limit adjust potentiometers and switches for servo selection (normal or Digital)and normal or reverse selection. Really the same as the Futaba 401 !

No difference, just different wording. Head lock is short for Heading Lock, and tail lock just means the gyro locks the tail into a heading.

hi,
i use this gyro with a HK450 and Assan 2.4 receiver and it all works perfectly well ! Even with a cheap analog servo the tail is quite stable.
In fact I don't see any reason to buy it's much more expensive cousin with a very similar name ...
good value for money !

Does anyone know if it is ok to mount this gyro upside down? I want to put it underneath the boom on my HK450 as is recommended to avoid it getting hit by the blades/paddles in a crash. I'm Unsure as it has the 'up' arrow on it

It doesn't matter if you turn it by 180 degrees on X axis or whatever degrees on Y axis.
So yes, you can mount it upside down.

I've been using GA410 with HD-1810MG digital servo and it didn't drift on howering but in and after flips it drift even to diferent ways, so its was pretty hard to corect. I swiched to HXT900 and it was suprisingli better but still making same kind of drifting. I made few flips with it but dont recomend to do so. Can recomend for howering and begginers flying. Now ill be getting GWS Park HPX and on recomandation of jpqabz MKS-480 so ill let you know.

yes I can, there is no drift, this servo is very fast and fully compatible with the GA410. follow my instructions for setting mentioned above, no trim / sub in the boot trim, neutral mechanical 0 ° and the gyro will be fully operational. This is a very good combination and this gyro is absolutely remarkable for its price!

I've got my ds480 and i really was surprised with the performance.
You write that there is no drift but it seems to me I won't be able to get rid of temperature drift which is pretty strong even in small temperature changes.

Ce gyro fonctionne remarquablement bien avec le servo MKS-480 et le AR6100, j'ai eu du mal ā comprendre comment le régler au début mais en fait c'est assez simple, voici ma procédure :
1- ne mčtre AUCUN trim ni sub trim
2- régler le palonier du servo ā 90°
3- régler le neutre mécanique avec un pas ā 0° et régler les limites
4- initialiser en mode HL
5- ajouter du rudder trim si besoin pour stopper le rampage du servo.
6- pour chaque réinitialisation il ne faut aucun trim ni subtrim, refaire 5 ā chaque initialisation.
on peut initialiser le gyro depuis le TX en basculant de HH ā HL deux fois de suite rapidement
Grâce ā cela il verrouille parfaitement, c'est un super gyro !!!
This gyro works remarkably well with the MKS-480 servo and AR6100, I had difficulty understanding how to adjust at first but in fact it's quite simple, here is my case:
1 - NONE trim or sub trim
2 - set servo 90 °
3 - set the neutral mechanical one step at 0° and set he limits
4 - initialize mode HL
5 - add rudder trim if necessary to stop the drift of the servo.
6 - to initialize each one should not trim or subtrim, repeat every 5 for every initializations.
can initialize the gyro from the TX switch from HH to HL twice quickly
Thanks to that it locks perfectly, it is a great gyro!

the neutral mechanical must be 0, to have a perfect symmetry for setting LIMIT, the gyro correct the drift continuously. Therefore, we use only the headlock mode.

Ant trick to getting this thing to work. I have it all hooked up per the manual, but all it seems to do is limit my servo travel to about 50%. There is no response from it at all when I swing the tail of the heli. I have tried this with both digital and analog servos and both react the same way, no response from the servo no matter how I movethe heli. HK-450 on Spektrum Dx6i with AR6200 RX, gyro on rudder with gain lead on gear channel. I am totally new to heli's so I am guessing that I must have something setup wrong and the gyro is probably fine.

I have been using this Gyro on my HK450, I can't seem to get rid of the Tail Wiggle on windy days. I have turned down the Gain to about 30% that makes it better but still present. With the gain up higher it is even worse. I have tried many servos .07 speed all Digital with no success. I have made sure my servo horn is as close to center as posible and have a very straight line on the control linkage to the Tail Rotor.
Any suggestions please?

Something I forgot to mention is that sometimes I have to disconnect the power and reset the Gyro from wanting to spin left or have to hold right rudder to keep it from spinning, I wouldn't say this is drift because it really pulls left hard.

I've been looking for info for a few days now on setup.
I set up according to how I understood the directions.
It is on a planes rudder.
Once initialized it pulls the rudder to one max right.
The only way to make it even appear to be functioning is by then using the TXs trim to ceter the rudder.
Mechanical centering doesn't work.
A Fututaba HH works as is expected.
Either this is not HH but "dual rate" or my setup is totally wrong.
Ideas?

You have to adjust out the drift. Use rudder sub trim. put gyro in heading hold mode adjust trim till it stops drifting go to hh mode for 30 sec or so switch back to rate if it moves add more trim go back and forth till it does not change when switching from hh to rate. One of mine took L25 to stop drift seems to depend on your servo.
