ZIPPY Flightmax 2500mAh Transmitter Pack (Futaba/JR)
ZIPPY Flightmax 2500mAh Transmitter Pack (Futaba/JR)

Zippy Flightmax batteries deliver full capacity & discharge as well as being the best value batteries in the hobby market today!

The Zippy Flightmax 2500mAh Transmitter pack fits snuggly into any Futaba or Jr radio which takes a 4x4 AA cell battery configuration (see image).
With a capacity of 2500mAh this lipoly replacement for your old NiCD or NiMH will last four to five times longer. Probably the best advantage with a lipoly transmitter battery is that it will give a true voltage reading from start to finish which means you can say goodbye to the days where you thought your Transmitter was fully charged at home, only to find the voltage drop off rapidly when at the field.

Has anyone actually bought this battery and was able to use it without mutilating their Futaba radio? I'm interested in replacing my NT8S600B NiCad with this.

Can I use this battery with a Futaba 7CAP 7-Channel PCM/4 transmitter? Will this battery fit in the compartment and will I be able to close the lid? Could this battery cause electronic problems?
Obs: original tx battery is 600mAh NT8S600B Tx battery FUTM1457 (9.6v)

Thanks.

How about the Airtronics 8000 tx? And how else do you charge this other than the balance plug?

Is this battery suitable with Hitec Aurora 9?
Gromitvt10 (1 points) 10/20/2009
What is the min that these should discharge too (??volts diplayed on TX). Obviously my Futaba 9C's low voltage alarm isn't made for Lipos.

Can I use this battery with a FUTABA T10CHP transmitter? Will this battery fit in the compartment and will I be able to close the lid? Could this battery cause electronic problems? Many thanks

Hello ISMAEL,
Yes you can use this battery in a Futaba T10CHP transmitter. Yes it will fit in the compartment, and yes you will be able to close the lid. No, this battery will not cause electronic problems when used properly.
This battery or the 2620mAh transmitter battery are great upgrades.

I have a Futaba 6Texas transmitter with a flat 8 niCad pack. I understand this will work if I cut the floor out of the battery compartment. Are the voltages close enough to not cause problems? I also have an Assan 2.4 hack module in this radio that will be powered by this pack. I have a DPDT switch to change frequency.

lomdel (4 points) 8/18/2009
What mods is neccesary to fit it in the Futaba 3PM 2,4Ghz?
SILAR (17 points) 6/20/2009
Hobbyking has prevision to sell the corresponding "flat" batteries RHINO and FLIGTMAX already in the market ???
Those flat batteries are ready to use in the Futaba (*)EX 2.4GHz transmitters avoiding to cut the floor.

sabongi (11 points) 6/14/2009
would it fit my futaba 3pm??
  Reply:  OldSkoolKool (2609 points);
Hello sabongi,
The Futaba 3PM transmitter uses a flat Nicd battery pack.
This battery will not fit without modifications.
HobbyKing, there's a market for flat Lipo packs. Take advantage!!!

I have a jr 6102 (white plug). Can I use either this pack or the rhino, which fits better?
Monte (5 points) 6/9/2009
Lipos are the only way to go for Transmitters. Fly all day as many models as you want off of one transmitter and never rn low on power. Yahoo!!!!
Marlene (24 points) 6/5/2009
how is this even considered a Futaba Tx battery? it needs to be 5mm smaller to even fit in the battery compartment?.. I thought I could modify the battery compartment but nope.. not even close.
Give insang a point.

-Reply from Sooty (0 points)*
Take the back off the transmitter. Cut out the floor of the battery compartment leaving about 6mm ledge all the way round - this will enable you to pop your original ni-cd flat pack back in if you want to. Wrap some foam around the lipo pack to hold it snugly in the compartment and up off the Tx board below.

It is of course up to everyone to check their Tx if it is possible to make room for the battery. In my Futaba 2Pl it fits, but just barely. With modifications of course. My advice is also to use Maxpro 3S monitor. Think positive instead and make it work. If this LiPo doesn't fit your Tx, then consider another LiPo with right dimensions, but then you also have to modify the leads too. A peace of cake!

Can this work in a Dx6?

NO! DX6 use 6V max.
