WARNING
These servos can be found on eBay and other asian sellers at close to this price, however be warned, they do not contain Taiwan/Japan components. HexTronik (the manufacturers of these servos) have two standards, one is for local sale, and the other is export quality with imported connectors and resin gears from Taiwan and Japan.
Our HXT500 and HXT900 are export only, and not built for the domestic market.

Because we order direct from the factory in large batches, the servos can sometimes be red, blue or green, depending on what our wholesale customers requested. Do not be alarmed, the colour does not indicate that it is a different servo.

The ones that I received last week says TowerPro inside the casing. Is this good or bad?

Same hardware, different label

super petits servos qui fonctionnent superbement bon

I notice there are no rubber shock isolators/grommets in the picture and none are mentioned as included. Do they not come with the servo?
  Reply:  pastoreli (125 points);
Rubber shock isolator not included. This servos is for small electric model.
  Reply:  -boot (100 points);
Yes I know what it's for but all servos should have rubber isolators. All flying models experience vibration even gliders.
  Reply:  Burnaby (203 points);
Neither the HK450 nor my TREX 500 ESP used rubber isolators. Do helis used them? or just for planes?

I was wondering where i can buy some replacement servo arms for this gem?

Cheers
  Reply:  vasikn (22 points);
There are many types of arms from other servos fitting to these. If you have other micro-servos at home so try arms from them*-)
  Reply:  highace10 (1 points);
I was hoping to buy some more as i have run out completely. Anywhere i can buy some more?

Cheers
  Reply:  Alwin (25 points);
Every servo comes with several different arms. Did you use all of those? The cross-shaped ones could be clipped off and used as standard arms. I do it all the time.. Stil have dozens of them lying around.. Could send you some if you're from Holland? (would be too expensive for international)

Do you think this servo would work to open and close the canopy on the T-28 Trojan from parkzone? I'm looking to build a canopy that opens and closes but I'm not sure if it is powerful enough. Any help would be great! Thanks!

why not use hxt900s
  Reply:  nick (7 points);
IDK, less expensive when you buy in gross. Why? - does the hxt500s not work well?
Kristian (1 points)
Hi,

Is this servo digital? (I have to use it with my 3PK on HRS). Or shut I look for another? And what shoud it be?

Hobe for help - Kristian
  Reply:  Beaufighter (707 points);
This is not a digital servo! All digital servos are described as digital in the descr1ption (search for "digital" in the quick search).

Thanks a lot. Then I don't brook my 2.4 GHz futaba *)
David (2 points)
I notice that the wires are color coded differently from a futaba servo. I assume that the red wire is the same as the red for futaba. Does the yellow wire relate to white and brown wire relate to black on the futaba servo? It looks like with the universal connector, it would be easy to plug them in upside down and get the polarity wrong.
  Reply:  David (2 points);
I will answer my own question in case someone else needs to know. I got the correct answer on another RC forum.
Brown relates to the black wire on a Futaba servo and is ground. The orange (or yellow) wire is signal and relates to the white wire on a Futaba servo.

No, the servo was not overload, the model has only 1m(40inch)wingspan and weights only 500g(15,3Oz). It was powerede by an e-max 2822, 8x6APC and Zippy3S2200. I flew these servo on this model for more than 2 motnhs without any problem, but today I have this, lost my model... :(
  Reply:  Michael (12 points);
Yes, the servo was overloaded. These are way too small for anything but small foamies, I'm surprised they worked at all. You should use at least a 9g HXT900 servo or equivalent for a plane of that size. Like it or not, that is why you lost your plane.
  Reply:  Alwin (25 points);
I fly fullsize DLG's with the HTX500* of course these only weight 250-300 grams but forces can be severe. Still, none of them ever failed me - and I used 30+ of them in planes. Sounds like just bad luck to me. Too bad for your plane though.
Kevin (102 points)
You don't say what size the aircraft was... Are you sure that this would be the right type of servo for the aircraft?
It sounds like the servos were overloaded.
Lucas (3 points)
Guys, be carefull with these servos,
I don´t like them, I bought two here on hobbycity and put on my electric Cherokee, on the Rudder and on the elevator, the servo of the elevator burn and lock the models fly direct to the ground ! I lost my Cherokee because these servos ! I´ll never use these servos anymore.
  Reply:  webber (1531 points);
Don't say such things ) These servos are perferct in the cost/quality ratio. I thing your problem was you used HXT 500 in your model instead of HXT 900. For the plane above 400 grams HXT 900 are prefered.

P.S. Always check the "crispy" sound in the servo before flight - if it crisps just fit a new one - they ARE really cheap!
Felar Furlong (374 points)
the sizes are incorrect. hxt500 and hxt900 both have similar sizes in their descrlption, but in fact hxt500 is much smaller.
btw, hxt500 and hxt900 are the best of the best.

I have a E-flite Taylorcraft ARF. Do I need the HXT500 or would the HXT900 be a better servo?
  Reply:  webber (1531 points);
Being an expert in the HXT servos, I would advice to use HXT 900 if the flying weight of your model is 350gr and above. HXT are also nice, but would mostly suit lighter airplanes and preferably not 3D
N.Master (74 points)
Yes, this is standard connectors. (Futaba and JR type compatible)
wctsh (1 points)
Do these have universal servo connectors or are they for one brand of receiver?
  Reply:  minitel (78 points);
universal
