This thing keeps beeping at me after the cell count check (low voltage warning, right?) Thing is, I've tried 4 different perfectly good, new, fully charged 3-cell lipos on here, each with the same results. I am able to go into programming mode though...think it could be a wrong default setting?
My soldering job is fine* it it wasn't, the thing wouldn't even turn on...so what's up? Bad ESC?

I found out that if it's a really rapid beeping (.25sec between beeps) then it's an incorrect throttle range and it thinks it's not at zero throttle. It doesn't say how to program throttle range, so I just use trim to shut it up. Now it works fine!

Just a warning! This ESC works great but its voltage safety cuttoff sucks. All of my other ESC's automaticly throttle back to around 50 pecent power this one just shuts off. If you can't dead stick your plane in its going down. so set your timer to give you plenty of time to land or make sure you can glide it in. I Lost a jet this weekend to this ESC.

You need to go into the menu and set it to soft cut-off. It will then gradually cut the power when approaching the cut-off.
How to do this:
Connect Engine to speed controller.
Connect Receiver to speed controller.
Start your Transmitter.
Put the throttle to max position.
Supply power to the speed controller (It MUST be connected to an engine at this point!)
It will play a short multi tone tune. Then you will be in the menu.
It will beep as follows:
* Short beep, - long beep.
* = * Break Off, ** Break on
** = * Li-Po, ** NiMH
*** = * Soft cutoff, ** Hard cutoff
**** = * Low threshold, ** Medium, *** High
- = * Normal startup, ** Soft, *** Super soft
-* = * Low timing, ** Medium, *** High timing
-** = * Set all to default
** = EXIT
To enter a menu option pull the throttle to min.
You will hear a confirmation beep, then it will start beeping the selections (see above).
Example: To set soft cutoff:
Throttle to max, enter menu music,
one beep, pause, two beeps, pause, three beeps,
throttle to min, confirmation tone, pause, one beep, throttle to max, confirmation beep, pause
four beeps, pause, one long beep, pause, one long beep one short beep, pause, two long beeps, throttle to max, confirmation beep, throttle to min directly after confirmation beep or you'll enter the menu again).
The menu will repeat after the two long beeps if you missed your choice.
Hope this helps.

The english manual coming with your speed, but programing with your radio`s stick is not easy. Better way is to buy a programing card, the Turnigy programing card is enable to programing TP also. It cost less than 8,00 USD. Good luck

You won't need a battery for the rx as this is a bec(battery eliminator circuit) speed controller.

Just received and did some testing with Turnigy 25-42 1100kv and different props. AMPS during testing goes to max 37.5 A, ESC gets pretty hot but handles very well.
Can be programmed with Turnigy card.
Nice ESC for price, except has only 1,5A BEC.

Works with 2 - 4 cell LiPo. Weight is minimal, I'm using mine in a glider and believe me, the hang time is long. As far as programming, tun on your tx then rx. When you advance the throttle, should just fire right up. Didnt have to program anyway.

Yes you could use it but you have to remember throttle stick gives 70%output means if you move the throttle more than 70% the performance will remain same. Not suitable for heli doing 3D(Idle Up) because the throttle range is too low.

Limited to 3 cells in series for LIPO or 10 cells NIMh/NiCd with BEC enabled Limited to 5 cells in series for LIPO or 18 cells NIMh/NiCd MAX with BEC disabled hexTronik Limited (HK) BRUSHLESS MOTOR CONTROLLER SETUP MENU (for GENII 18A and 30A) Type Current Fe t BEC Timing mode PWM LIPO NIHM 18-N 15-18A 12 5V/1A 2/7/15/30 8K 2 to 5 6/18 30-N 25-30A 15 5V/1A 2/7/15/30 8K 2 to 5 6/18 To program the ESC you must connect the motor and ESC to the receiver. 1. Turn on the transmitter and place the throttle stick to full power position (full up position). 2. Energize the ESC by connecting the battery or power source to the speed controller. Five seconds after making the connection, you will hear a musical tone. 3. Move the throttle stick to half throttle. You will then hear each parameters musical tone twice, with a 3 second delay between each. 4. When you hear the tone to the parameter you want to change move the stick to full throttle. This will allow you to set the parameters to your specifications. The following symbols indicate the different main parameters with dashes representing number of tones ? Cell Type and Number ? BRAKE ? TIMING MODE ? Voltage Protection After you have selected which main parameter to change, you will enter the sub-parameters. The procedure for setting them is the same as above. You will hear each musical sequence twice for each sub-parameter, and you will have three seconds between each sounding to move the throttle to full up position to save your choice. To confirm your choice you will hear a sharper tone indicating, this parameter has been saved. Below are the sub parameters for each of the above. 1. Cell Number and Type. ? 2LIPO or NiMh/Nicd AUTO( 0.8V/CELL* ? 3LIPO ( 2.75V/CELL) ? 4LIPO( 2.75V/CELL) ? 5LIPO( 2.75V/CELL) 2. BRAKE SET NO_Brake SOFT_Brake MID_Brake HARD_Brake 3. TIMING MODE SETTING 2 7 15 30 4. VOLTAGE PROTECTION 2.8V/CELL 2.9V/CELL 3.0V/CELL Once more after you hear the parameter choice you want move the throttle stick to the full up position. You will hear a long sharp BEEP, this tone indicates the option to be saved and the system returns to the programming menu. When you have finished all programming pull the throttle stick to full down position, the speed control will make one final save of all settings and will arm the motor. You can now power up the motor!
