Felar Furlong (88%)
how this receiver become 9ch? is it ever possible to have more than 8ch on not pcm receiver?
   waynemia (74%)
It isn't. It is an 8channel. Some boob put 9 channel on because there is a battery terminal.
   abdulrahman (37%)
yes, it is possible
   kyle7119 (40%)
There are 8 channels and a channel for the battery power (channel 9). I don't believe that channel 9 can be used for anything other than the battery.
   rotorvator (55%)
The 9th channel space on the receiver will accommodate the power lead from an external battery pack for those ESC's that do not have a bec. This leaves all other 8 channels available for controls, gear, flaps, switches etc if you have a fancy transmitter.
   DarkHeli (53%)
Generally, Futaba radios only run 8channels on ppm mode

flybyrc (55%)
Do these require a power source, if so what?
   TrubsNZ (41%)
Yes, anything from 4.8V to 6.0V. you can plug a power source into any spare channel, or via a speed controller with BEC into channel 1
   waynemia (74%)
All receivers require a power source.
   roji_w (69%)
Yes , of course. power will supply tru ch-3 from ESC or spare channel from BEC
   abdulrahman (37%)
they only need the same voltage as the servos which is 4.6~6 volts
   kyle7119 (40%)
Yes, from your ESC or UBEC.
   rotorvator (55%)
Power is from your main battery through the ESC lead when you have a bec in the speed control. Use a 6 volt receiver battery into the 9th channel when there is no integrated bec or use a seperate UBEC tapped off your main battery to supply power.

Mr. Farknocker (72%)
I bought one for a 72Mhz TX. It has 8 channels and one for battery. On a normal ESC with a BEC, I'd just plug the ESC into channel 1. However this one seems to have a "battery" channel. Do I plug my ESC into channel 1 or 8 or am I supposed to plug the battery directly into the "battery" channel?
   TrubsNZ (41%)
plug esc into channel one, this will be sufficint and will work fine. if you want a separate power source for the reciever then that can go into ninth channel,
   waynemia (74%)
There is a dedicated battery connection on the receiver. Just plug the battery in there. YOu can plug it in to any unused channel also. The advantage of a dedicated battery connection is that you don't have to use a Y cable when you need all 8 channels for the plane.

The BATT connection powers the receiver and the servos.
   waynemia (74%)
Yes, since you are using an ESC with a BEC, then you plug the BEC/Throttle control into the throttle channel for your transmitter.
   kyle7119 (40%)
Plug in your ESC into the channel that you would normally use (channel 1). The battery channel is for people who are using a UBEC.

I am looking for some specificaiton on the input voltage for these receivers. I have a lot of them and they have been working fine. I use Nimh, 6V packs. I want to know what the specifications are so I can look at other battery packs. I did not see anything on the Corona web site.

Thanks, Wayne
   tomxl3 (27%)
if your planing on using a bigger voltage pack like a lipo use a bec regulator and problems solved!:)
   waynemia (74%)
No, I don't want to use a regulator. That is an unnecessary complication. Some receivers can accept 7.4V. There are a lot of new servos that can accept this voltage.
I finally found the specifications at Corona:

never seen this type of receiver efore, am i right in thinking that it will find any tx on any frequency without a crystal in the rx.
   waynemia (74%)
It will lock on the TX for the frequency range specified. There are no crystals. The instructions have to be followed carefully to get in to sync mode. Basically, press the scan button while you turn the power on. The scan button is in the hole on the side and a plastic tool is provided for pressing it. Let go of the button and the led will blink slowly. Make sure the transmitter is on and in the vicinity of the receiver. Do this in an area where there aren't a lot of other transmitter on. Now momentarily press the scan button. The led will blink fast while it locks onto the tx. The receiver is locked when it stops blinking. You only need to do this once unless you want to lock to a different channel. I usually setup the receiver without any servos on it. After I set the channel, I plug in the servos and make sure they are all working.

Hope this is helpful.
   abdulrahman (37%)
yes, that is right

I have problem setting this up with digital servos. Am running on PPM mode with JR PCM9xii. digital servo jitters a lot while analog servos works fine.
And with digital servos, the led on RX keeps blinking when jitter occurs, is it normal or I did something wrong?
   abdulrahman (37%)
it should not be blinking
   azrc_pilot (37%)
Yes, I have the same problem. I am using Futaba 8UAP. I hooked up in my HK450. I am using Hitec HS-65MG for cyclics and MKS DS8910 for tail. When I connected the power ON, all the servos jitters around unstoppable to maximum limits. I am afraid it will burnt my servos. The red LED light was also blinking. I tried to disconnect the servo one by one. I noticed that it only stopped jitters when I disconnected the tail digital servo (DS8910). I had tried it in my 3D foamy plane with normal servo (HXT900) without problem. I think this RX not supporting digital servos.

Will this rx work on both 5 and 6 volts
   abdulrahman (37%)
yes, it will work on both of them

i put this receiver in my 450 heli today. i have a futaba 7-channel transmiter,fm/ppm 72mhz,channle-55. it found my transmiter very fast. it works great!!! and my heil flys beautiful.
   azrc_pilot (37%)
Bigwayne, what servos are you using? Analog or digital servos. I cannot used it with digital servos.

crafter (54%)
Will this and other 8-channel Rx work OK with a 7-channel Tx (say the Hitec Eclipse7 or Futaba 7CAP)? Hope someone can clarify, as I've used 4 and 6 Channel Rx with my Tx without problem, so I just want to know if it works the other way round. Thanks.
   Felar Furlong (88%)
jr 7ch here. works ok.

Glen (87%)
Unless someone can tell me how to fix this.... I would have to say that the Telebee Gyro doesn't work with this Corona synthesized RX.
   Beaufighter (-25%)
A problem with synth receivers (and 2.4G rx) is that they use some time to "boot". Your gyro requires a valid signal right after power on, but your rx use more time, so your gyro "fails". The easiest way is to fit a powerswitch to your gyro. Power the rx, wait a few seconds, then power your gyro, and it works!
   azrc_pilot (37%)
Now I used Spektrum DX7 in my HK450 without problem. I ever used this Corona RX before, I still not understand why it jitters and wont work with digital servos.

Garret H (77%)
Is this a full-range receiver?
   waynemia (74%)
yes, I have had no range problems. Specs are > 1.5KM

rmartignoni (44%)
It's not locking to my Futaba 7CAP. I've set the TX to PPM mode. What should I do?
   waynemia (74%)
Watch the led when you press the scan button. It should blink 3 times. If it blinks 3 times, then blinks 2 times, it is in the wrong mode. Press the scan button again. It should blink three time then flash rapidly as it scans for the transmitter. You transmitter must be on and extend the antenna to ensure a good signal.

Gregson (51%)
Nao entendi porque na foto o fio da antena é branco e mais grosso e no receptor é laranjado e fino??

lololoh (72%)
does it work with futaba 9z radio?
   waynemia (74%)
I have a 9C and they are fine.

Janson (72%)
Anyone has used this to synthesize with the JR 9x2 synthesized module?

Is it compatible with JR radios?

Manuel (72%)

I'm interested in this receiver, but, after buy it,can anyone tell-me if it works well with the E-Fly 6ch 72MHz transmiter?

waynemia (74%)
Where can I find some instructions for setting this receiver up??????
   waynemia (74%)
I found the information online at ***********corona-rc****/images/stories/dowmload_files/RP8D1_Ben_including_failsafe.pdf
   waynemia (74%)
You need to know how to set the frequency, not so self-explanatory.

Yuliy (75%)
stupid question but:
dual convertion means PCM?
single conversion PPM?
   W3FJW Ron (42%)
Dual and single can be PPM or PCM. The receiver determines what mode the transmitter should be set to.
   trashbug (88%)
Dual conversion supposedly does more filtering to get a cleaner signal. this would be important if you fly with lots of other folks or places where there's a lot of radio noise.

It has nothing to do with PCM.

PCM systems use digitally encoded signals to minimize interference.

You can have both systems at work in one receiver:-)

rcwoodguy (90%)
Sequence for startup?

LÍCIO (72%)
Can I use this Corona, instead of GWS/R6NII Naro Type?
   W3FJW Ron (42%)
Yes. This receiver can replace 98% of all receivers.

Philip (72%)
JR compatible?
   W3FJW Ron (42%)
Can be used with both Futaba or JR.
   waynemia (74%)
I am looking for some specificaiton on the input voltage for these receivers. I have a lot of them and they have been working fine. I use Nimh, 6V packs. I want to know what the specifications are so I can look at other battery packs. I did not see anything on the Corona web site.

What's the shift on these, both the 4 and 8. Negative, Positive, or automatic ??

TIA, Ron
   waynemia (74%)
Automatic shift.

eureka (63%)
Mine has orange colored antenna.

pearldiver (50%)

This Rx comes with thick white antenna wire (as in the photo) or with thin orange colour?
   Eric1180 (-53%)
Mine had thin orange wire.
   FRAMOSNT (81%)
Mine has orange and has quality problems in reception (lost signal less 50m). I think the white wire is better (same as Futaba).

eureka (63%)
Can anyone is able to make that receiver work at 72.890 Mhz(Channel 51 I think)? I have tried many times but my corona could not lock the frequency.
   waynemia (74%)
Does it lock on other frequencies?
   Canamflyer (66%)
I have transmitters on CH 14,15,43,44 and 51. I've bought 4ch 1Conv, and 6&8 CH dual convand they all bind to my transmitters. BTW, they are all futaba xmits.
