It isn't. It is an 8channel. Some boob put 9 channel on because there is a battery terminal.

There are 8 channels and a channel for the battery power (channel 9). I don't believe that channel 9 can be used for anything other than the battery.

The 9th channel space on the receiver will accommodate the power lead from an external battery pack for those ESC's that do not have a bec. This leaves all other 8 channels available for controls, gear, flaps, switches etc if you have a fancy transmitter.

Power is from your main battery through the ESC lead when you have a bec in the speed control. Use a 6 volt receiver battery into the 9th channel when there is no integrated bec or use a seperate UBEC tapped off your main battery to supply power.

I bought one for a 72Mhz TX. It has 8 channels and one for battery. On a normal ESC with a BEC, I'd just plug the ESC into channel 1. However this one seems to have a "battery" channel. Do I plug my ESC into channel 1 or 8 or am I supposed to plug the battery directly into the "battery" channel?

plug esc into channel one, this will be sufficint and will work fine. if you want a separate power source for the reciever then that can go into ninth channel,

There is a dedicated battery connection on the receiver. Just plug the battery in there. YOu can plug it in to any unused channel also. The advantage of a dedicated battery connection is that you don't have to use a Y cable when you need all 8 channels for the plane.
The BATT connection powers the receiver and the servos.

No, I don't want to use a regulator. That is an unnecessary complication. Some receivers can accept 7.4V. There are a lot of new servos that can accept this voltage. I finally found the specifications at Corona: Specifications Size 1.8x0.9x0.5 (49x24x14mm) Weight 0.32oz (9.2g)(with shrink wrap) Sensitivity better than 2.0V Selectivity 8kHz at 65dB down Nr. of channels 8 RF technology Dual tuned RF circuitry Analog filtering Dual 4 pole ceramic filter Digital filtering DSP filtering with mild algorithm Modulation FM/PPM Shift polarity Positive or Negative (auto detect) Case Shrink wrap Operating Voltage 4.8V~6.0VDC Operating Current 24mA.

never seen this type of receiver efore, am i right in thinking that it will find any tx on any frequency without a crystal in the rx.
|
|

|
waynemia

It will lock on the TX for the frequency range specified. There are no crystals. The instructions have to be followed carefully to get in to sync mode. Basically, press the scan button while you turn the power on. The scan button is in the hole on the side and a plastic tool is provided for pressing it. Let go of the button and the led will blink slowly. Make sure the transmitter is on and in the vicinity of the receiver. Do this in an area where there aren't a lot of other transmitter on. Now momentarily press the scan button. The led will blink fast while it locks onto the tx. The receiver is locked when it stops blinking. You only need to do this once unless you want to lock to a different channel. I usually setup the receiver without any servos on it. After I set the channel, I plug in the servos and make sure they are all working.
Hope this is helpful.

Yes, I have the same problem. I am using Futaba 8UAP. I hooked up in my HK450. I am using Hitec HS-65MG for cyclics and MKS DS8910 for tail. When I connected the power ON, all the servos jitters around unstoppable to maximum limits. I am afraid it will burnt my servos. The red LED light was also blinking.
I tried to disconnect the servo one by one. I noticed that it only stopped jitters when I disconnected the tail digital servo (DS8910).
I had tried it in my 3D foamy plane with normal servo (HXT900) without problem.
I think this RX not supporting digital servos.

A problem with synth receivers (and 2.4G rx) is that they use some time to "boot". Your gyro requires a valid signal right after power on, but your rx use more time, so your gyro "fails". The easiest way is to fit a powerswitch to your gyro. Power the rx, wait a few seconds, then power your gyro, and it works!

Watch the led when you press the scan button. It should blink 3 times. If it blinks 3 times, then blinks 2 times, it is in the wrong mode. Press the scan button again. It should blink three time then flash rapidly as it scans for the transmitter. You transmitter must be on and extend the antenna to ensure a good signal.

Dual conversion supposedly does more filtering to get a cleaner signal. this would be important if you fly with lots of other folks or places where there's a lot of radio noise.
It has nothing to do with PCM.
PCM systems use digitally encoded signals to minimize interference.
You can have both systems at work in one receiver:-)
