Which connection/plug is on this charger.. is it deans or what? :D

Hi Oliver, the charge plug connectors are the standard 3.5mm banana-plugs. The charger is sold with a couple of standard charge cables and most of the standard charge cables have the banana-plugs.

Can a person charge two 2cell or 3cell batteries at once like say 2 5000mah 2cell Tenergy packs and do it so 5amps goto each?

It doesn't state it but does the B6 have a Lipo Balancer into the charger? Or would I need a separate balancer?
Cheers

yes it does have an internal balancer but from what i have herd it isn't very accurate. i have the same charger and have been using it for 4mo. now and have not had any problems. i also use a seperate balancer just to insure my batts. are always balanced. hope this helps.

was wondering if anybody knows how to power up the b6 just got mine today, hooked it up to car battery and nothing, no display, no charging, is there a special way to power up?

don't plug the power cable into the charger before you plug it into your power system

When I placed my order this item was in stock and the items showed in reserved status with my order and now after a few days my order has not been shiped. What is your meaning of reserved....? and why not lock in the items with the orders as soom as you posted the orders...
I think there are some QC issues with resistors in balancing circuits. The unit reports decent balance, but if you measure yourself with multimeter, the unit if off sometimes 0.05v to 0.15v per cell. When charge is full at ~4.2v that could mean actual charge between cells was 4.15, 4.05 and 4.25v in my case. Too much variation for me to use this. I think the charger portion is ok, passable I'll call it. The unit looks nice, and LED display is nice, but the suspect balancing feature of the item, has me boxing it up for only spare use. I won't risk my lipos to this unit, and I don't think it's a good deal to have to buy a $20+ balancer to run with this item. Thread at rcforums describes fixing the unit yourself with better resistors. I just choose to buy different/better charger. I hear the B5 doesn't suffer from the balancing problems, I don't own one so can't confirm. I hope they get this unit fixed though b/c if it did work as advertised would be a good deal. Now, it's expensive paper weight in my shop. I still like Hobbycity though :), their lipos are a great deal. Consider a different charger though like the B5 if you don't need the 6 cell function. Also, I Hear the B8 suffers from same balance issue.

Great charger with RS232 PC co

Like many others I found that this piece of hardware is excellent. Myself I miss information about how to connect it with PC, and I found solution. Its "USB" port is in fact RS232 port with TTL voltage levels, so you don't need to buy expensive USB cables if yours computer has COM port! I used simple TTL to RS232 converter based on MAX232 chip (I thing that it is possible use different solution, on the internet are lot of schematics how to connect TTL device to COM port) and the LogView software. This combination works very well! Now I can see differences in cell capacity in pack, store charge/discharge graphs and compare them in time and more...

Very good charger with only one problem: balancer is not accurate. Have found the problem ( 1 percent resistors used instead of 0.1 percent resistors). I am in contact with SkyRC about a possible improvement in the design.
But as said, besides the balancer incaccuracy this is a great product!

EIn hervorragendes Produkt, einfache Bedienung, sehr übersichtliches Menü. Sehr gut ist auch die LiPo Storagefunktion, zum Endladen auf 3,85V, damit dann die Lipos zum Lagern können.

Well needless to say the price is great for what you get and the case is a nice touch. I want to comment about the customer service at United Hobbies.I was very skeptical that they would replace two missing buttons on my IMAX B6 (missing from factory). I was pleasantly surprised when my buttons arrived. Finally people are remembering that customer service is important.

Kevin

very good charger for the price, charges everything, has safety features. I 've found the reported problem of balancing lipos not too serious. I have measured differences of 0,04 to 0,05 volts (4,2 to 4,25). It is still annoying especially as the voltage exceeds 4,2. Overall I would recommend it as a first do-it-all charger

Good value for money

Not a bad charger, has some good features and it's not pricey. Does not have precise measuring like my other charger but is good enough and within the specified range. Display of my B6 had developed a fault after only 16 uses. Got a replacement after spending fair amount of time and money. I would recommend e-Station BC-6, BC-8 or Mega Power Infinity-960SR instead of this medium quality product.

Great with Temp sensor!

Hi guys,
I have already posted a review on this charger, and would just like to update my findings...
The Temperature sensor works perfectly with the cable I bought from for AU$7.80. You just need to reverse the BLACK and WHITE connectors (use a pin to lever the stopper open to remove the lead safely). Once that has been done, the temperature sensor works fine. It's about 3 degrees higher, but still good enough.
I have also bought the USB interface, reversed the pins, but haven't tried it yet (currently balancing 2x 3cell packs from the harness i bought from wattsup too http://www.wattsuprc.com.au/product_detail.asp?pid=EAB103)
Unitedhobbies, you NEED to stock these components for your customers, the temp sensor is a MUST for NiMH charging!
People thinking of buying this charger, don't hesitate, buy it now as it is great value for money!

This charger is very small but efficient. It takes about 45 minutes to balance charge my HXT D9 G2 2200mAh 3S 20-32C lipo and a lot less to charge my NiMh batteries. The package includes most of the cables you will ever need and if you need another adapter it is very easy to make your own, just solder it to a deans connector and you are done!
The only thing I dont like about it as the cable that is permenantly attached on the left side, but that is easy enought to remove.
I use a ibm thinkpad adapter to power it and it has more then enough Amps for my needs.
Very good value for money, this is a no-brainer - buy now :)

Merci Hobby...

Recived it in ~ two weeks. Very nice charger, also loved the box.
I ordered two of these chargers for my helicopters. First of all they are slightly different then on the picture, it has a normal DC power plug build in instead of the supply cable shown on the picture.
Before purchasing these chargers I read a lot of them, apparently the balancing function on Li-Poly or LiFePo4 batteries didn't work very accurate. I found out that you can calibrate this charger the same way as that you can calibrate Turnigy chargers. This way the displayed cell voltage of the charger (4.20V) is corresponding with the 4.20V my voltage meter reads.
If you want to calibrate your charger, follow these steps: Step 1. Disconnect the battery and power supply Step 2. Press the 'Dec.' and 'Start' button while connecting the power supply Step 3. Read the battery voltage with a voltage meter Step 4. Connect the battery to the charger Step 5. Use the 'Dec.' and 'Inc.' to adjust the cell voltage reading to calibrate it with your voltage meter Step 6. Press start to exit calibrating menu
I find the Imax B6 a very good charger for its price. Its build quality is perfect and has good charging features. The brightness of the screen can be adjusted and even in the sun it's very clear.

Excellent product. A lot of functions(different types of batteries) for this price. I think that the prospectus must be a little more comprehensive. STAVROS

The most bang for the buck you can get if it's for chargers. It got everything I'll probably need. I'll probably get me a B8 for "firepower"
Pros: - Fepo option - Lithium storage charge - Balancer (what's wrong with 0,03V inaccuracy?!) - Comes with adaptor cables - slick case - backlighted display - keypress sounds can be turned off (thank god)
Cons: - discharge current (I use a Brushless 1/8th scale monster Truck for discharging anyway...)
