I want to firewall mount this instead of stick mount. Does the stick mount come off? Does it fit the 8mm shaft mounts?

Standard 10mm stick mount. You can use 3/8 but it is a pain to shim the motor on tight. Just buy some standard 10mm stick and it should mount up fine.
