I have a problem with the motor mount. Hard to believe but the point at which the motor is mounted/attached has been built, in the factory, upside down! Sure some will say no problem just mount it the other way up, but the thrust angles (down & left) are built in & turning the mount affects this angle effectively making it useless. Hobbyking require any items subject to warranty claims to be returned complete, but the shipping from NZ is equal to the cost of a new model so why would I send it back. Any suggestions apart from buying an aftermarket motor mount?

you may want to by a fome plane with he eveything in it and study how things are instaled and placed and how they work , and aftor you no how they work you will be able to build what ever plane you want to by just aplying what you no to your new plane it helps when there is a hobby shop close to you so you can pick up what ever you need but start of with the fome planes with everthing all ready in it and some epoxy so you can get use to the repars to the plane ..

Yes, you can fly it but you need to make a little bit of change, you have to purchase engine mount suitable to the aircraft. before going to attach mount with fiselage , you need to attach another piece of wood or metal cut in round shape (See Picture No:3)for the strength because engine produces more vibration than motor.Remove nose cone.

What are all the items we need to purchase? I know we need a motor, BESC, servos, propeller, batteries, radio TX and receiver. But how about prop extension shaft, extension servo cables and servo rods? If so, how long? And what else is needed?

You don't want a motor bigger than 35-xx I went with the turnigy 35-42c which works nice with a super simple 50a esc and a 3a besc as for the servos i used turnigy 1160a , three 15cm extension servo cables and you will need a 4mm prop shaft adapter. Also a 2200mah lipo 3s is about the bigger you want to go usless you want to cut some of the fire wall out

The turnigy 35-42c seems to come with a prop adaptor. Do I need another 4mm prop adapter? Or is this the same as a shaft extension? Also, Do servo rods come with the airplane? If not, then what do we buy?

Prop Ext shaft is required to put a distance with propeller & plane, if you need. extension servo cables if the servo cables are short in length then ext. cables are attached with servos, or if you need to place the receiver at a distance, you need to increase length of servo wire. For this model, for a good aerobatic flight, you will require a Turnigy 35-42D motor, 2200 mah Lipo-11.1 or larger and Spped controller(More than 40Amp)

yes you need shaft adapter as the motor goes inside the motor box. not included. Some recommend with 3lipson as more reliable

I have changed my motor found to a front facing setup by cutting the motor mount down and fixed the 35/42 motor front facing added a 80amp speedy and powered it by 2200mh 14.2v li-Po's the increase in performance is excellent and it will pull vertical until you get bored. I would recommend anyone considering a 14.2v power setup to swap the motor round as the added cooling air prevents the motor burning out as mine did (before the mod) after just 2 minutes. The plane is very good for the money

I know the reason it came off??? That was not the question. The question was "do you stock spare canopy"? Which you failed to answer. I believe that the info you provided should be included in the instrucions, not AFTER it has ejected at 200ft. Scott

Do you stock spare canopy as it ejected 10 seconds after takeoff into long grass, even after feeling quite tight and extra tape added on the ground.??

if you get a spare, cut out a piece of convering at the bottom at the back of the fuz, to let the air out, the reason it came off is because airs coming in but theres no were for it to get out

maybe your country is a frozen wasteland in winter, but mine is not, and seeing as its nearly summer here that doesnt help. Maybe you should try geting out from behind your computer desk, earning your 323 points and see what the sun looks like. hehehehe

IMHO Sorry Stowelsy but I think your going to have to fabricate a new one . Maybee you can engineer a proper mechanical locking mechanisme like HK aught to have in the first place. These magnets are a forlorn hope. HK do not have a monopoly on this misguided faith in magnetisme,
