What size connectors are attached to the motor leads?

Hey all.Can anyone tell me what the round silver collar w/set screw is used for?Thanx
   gedutis (80%)
You have to put it on saft as close as possible to "C" clip. This collar is need to avoid rotor movement forward if "C" clip will slip off

Hope You understood my bad english and my idea
   Rodney (72%)
this goes on the back of the motor to help the rear bearing stay in place on open bearing motors, my motor has the bearing inside the case and not pressed in form the back so it should be optional.BUT I using it as a safety belt, just in case to use install the motor mount the butt this up against the back of the motor back off a few thousands of a inch and tighten is down. I hope this makes some sense.

I use that if I use olso the supplied propeller adapter. Then the shaft will pull agans the "springring". I use the collar to supply the "springring". And it is not possible that the outrunnger "fly away" with the propeller but without the modell :-O

Can i use it with an 11" prop? or do I have to use a 12" one?
   HalloKai (64%)
The motor seams to be able to handle up to 80A-> Recomended ESC: 80A. So you could use evry prop which drain less than this current. I guess the maximum eta % will be at aprox 40A.

Anyone have numbers when using this on 5s and 6s with props in 12-13" Dia? Any thoughts on this motor in a 7# Hangar 9 Sundowner 50 size Pylon plane? In english

I use this on my new 1,4m Bruckman YAK55M.Flying weight 2300g,5s 3000 Turnigy LiPo,ESC Super Brain 80A,prop tested APC Elektro 15x8:CRAZY-79Amps with 1250 Watt peak power- too much, now flying 14x7.

I use these motors on a skyraider mach I and II. With a 12X8 prop and 5s 4000mah it runs great. About 900watts and 45-50 amp full power. Flys the plane better than the original OS46AX, if anything these could be a little overpowered for this plane as plane weighs 5.5lb. I get about 15min flight time

Hi is this outrunner C5055-600 good enough for kyosho kelly 70 racer ep, weight 2.7 kg, anyone ever try this before? Wanted it to go fast or faster than nitro engines. thanks
   Flew Boy (89%)
Hi Edward, I've got this motor in a 2.7kg pc9 and my brother used a 72 sized four stroke petrol motor in the same plane and mine ABSOLUTLY blows his away, his will go vertical for a little bit but last weekend I lost my plane straight up in the clouds and I'm not joking, luckly I had some onlookers who saw it before it was too late and showed me where it was so I could bring it back to me :) I use a 3000mAp 5 cell 20c flightmax batt, a 14x12 prop and a 100Amp esc. I get approx 10mis cruise time and about 5 mins flat out. So to answer your question YEP this motor will work. Have fun mate.

I have several of these motors. In a 51/2 lb Funster 72" span, 7lb funster, 8lb ugly stik, 61/2lb Tiger 60, and a 6lb Kadet senior. I fly at 5300ft and have to prop up to a 14x10Eapc style. I run only turnigy esc's either 60 or 80 amp. I use between 3s to 6s zippy 5000ma lipos. You must use high timing on 5 or 6s cells. They work great and I get over 15 minutes flights. Hope this helps**Baylor

I have a question :

Can this motor hold more than 800 watts with a 4S 5000mAh ?

If it can, which prop would I use ?

Thanks.

UH-Switzerland (98%)
The poles are the number of the magnetic stripes in the rotor. This Motor have 14 poles, every other outrunner (not for Heli, EDF or other high kv application there are less) have also 14 poles. Take a high Timing from 15 to 30° it will be ok.

ttgraffx (33%)
how do i find out how many poles this motor has to program my ESC ??
Thank you

GlenRose (71%)
what diameter is the can on this motor? thanks.

is there space in between the magnets also (for gluing purposes)
   Jack (72%)
Outrunners have the magnets facing inwards, so centrifugal force is not working against the glue* thus you shouldn't need to glue the magnets.
   Beaufighter (-25%)
The can is 50mm dia. Turnigy motors are named by outside dia-length, so 50-55 is 50mm dia, 55mm long.

Gluing of magnets, see the forum ("customer community" link on top of page) It is not much room for epoxy unless you remove magnets and reglue.

6s 2200mah enough for this motor? 12x8 prop 6lb plane?

Russel (72%)
Under Specs it says "Suggested Prop: 5 cell:14x9 / 6 cell:14x8", but then later it says "Manufacturer suggests a 12 x 8 prop on 6 cells or 13 x 10 on 4 cells."

Which is correct?

Sacha (75%)
