As soon as I plug a battery (3S 3000mAh)into the HXT80 the red light next to the microcontroller starts flashing and the motor is unresponsive. The receiver is getting power and all other servo's can be controlled. All of the solder joints are shiny. I have tested with a volt meter and power seems to be flowing through the esc except at the output terminals to the motor. The motor is a 3700kV Turnigy and works fine with other ESC's. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

Well perhaps you should give it to me to look at or send it back to hobby king...

Here's my video using this esc with a SK motor. Works great and was only slightly warm.

Help, what went wrong? Today my hexTronik PRO 80A burned up. It should be my first flight with hexTronik PRO 80A, TURNIGY 50-45 890kv,
ZIPPY Flightmax 4400mAh 4S1P 15C and a 12x6 propeller. But just after 2-3 second and passing half throtle the ESC took fire with flames and smoke. The battery and engine is OK but the ESC is totaly destroyed. Could i have done something wrong? I have not programmed the new ESC.
   Joffrey (63%)
Have you cut the red wire of servo connection to disable the BEC ?
   Tally-ho (46%)
Yes the red wire was cut.

Anyone else getting hard starts with this ESC? Meaning first throttle application is rough?
   chewy (33%)
Yeah, I used it with an ARC 28-47-1 in a ducted fan, and it sounded like a coffee grinder upon starting up. Once it gets going, it's ok. It startled me the first time it happened. I thought the df had sucked in something and was a gonner. Phew!

Lol... I also dicovered one of the capacitor leads was snapped, only make partial contact... Since I am not even remotely willing to go resolder this, I sent it back for RMA...oldered the Plush 80a

I just got this esc in the mail today and soldered everything up fine. When I connect everything (6s) i get a single beep from the esc and then nothing. I cant enter program mode by starting at 100% throttle (no usb adapter). However the motor spins up alright without any more sounds.... ideas? Anyone know why I cant program?

Aero_focus (67%)
The wiring is perfectly soldered.

Then I'm out of ideas (it may be the output transistors, the capacitors etc, but unless you have some experience in elecronics I'd not recommend opening) Try the forum ("customer community" on top of the page:) Best of luck!

I have some problem with this device. Motor starts wery hard with hesitates and somtimes change direction. after 3 attempt ESC stop it and red LED flashing. Without propeller it works litle bit better. I have try all settings with timing but unfortunately.
Firmware revision 1.044. Inrunner and outrunner motors has same thing.
   Beaufighter (-25%)
Check the wiring/soldering on all three wires out. If you are having problem with several motors and have changed timing, it sounds like one of the three wires are not connected (or bad connection)

I have the same problems, is there any solution?

As per Mark, where do I get instructions?
Also, when connected to a 3S1P 2300 LiPo, and a 35-48 110 motor via the USB dongle, the motor does not start until 25% throttle, and is very rough until speed is increased.

I just received my hxt80, and there are no programming instructions. How do I get programming instruction for this item? Could you e-mail them to me? THanks.

Go to ****hextronik**** and download the last entry (about 7MB) The files include the USB drivers and the manual.

Need the manual for the hexTronik PRO 80A BESC w/ PC Programmability. I'm running 6S 8000mha battery and need to double check which wire to cut to disable the BEC.

You disable the bec just by removing the red wire from the servo connector. You do NOT need to cut aby wires.

manu42 (84%)
what about dimensions ?weight ?thanks for your answer
   Helicoy (42%)
I think the Bec inside is not very good in all situation .
I use to not use this one even with 3S lipo ?
