finally the motor burned. I replaced it with the stock one.It works ok but after 30 seconds of hover the motor is hot. I canot say if it is normal or not. I saw someone else had the same problem with this motor.

I have a problem that started when i used this speed controler. Have this motor Turnigy E500 6T 4000Kv 200W Heli Motor on a blade 400 as a replace to stock motor. First i burned stock esc then i ordered hobbyking 50 amp with 11 $ and the this blade 400 was 30 % more powerfull that stock . One very hot day and after flying 3 batteries hobbyking esc burned (no thermal protection the heli became a stone). I ordered 60 amp turnigy TURNIGY Plush 60amp Speed Controller (i have 80 amp on my hk500gt). Now that i test it the motor after 4 second hover is extremely hot and smells. It still works but after 3 second become very very hot. What is the problem? I did not changed anything on the heli. It was flying perfect with previous esc. Timming was low and i changed to med but i had same problem

Hi, do you think it will handle six servos (4x Hitec HS65HB, 2x Dymond D47) with 3s and AXI 2820/10? It will be used in full carbon MiniCorado. Thanks

hey, do u think it would be safe to use this with 2 12 volt lead acid batteries in series
   Hance (67%)
The speed controller is rated for 26 volts you should be fine.

I want to plug two ESC with BEC to one receiver. Should I unplug some wire or do something else or I just can plug them to seperate channels and everything will be OK?
   johnaverbeck (65%)
Yes, unplug or remove one of the power leads from one of the speed controls, then connect to the y-harness and then connect the Y-harness to the receiver.
   mfernandezga (-90%)
I tinnk that you can plug two ESC at 3 channel with a Y cable.

I don't have any BEC voltage with this ESC. The manual says that the BEC is "switch" and is capable of 5V/3Ac. What does "switch" mean and how do I activate the BEC voltage? Also, what does "linear" mean for BEC?
   359fishing (67%)
Switch mode BEC will deliver full 3A current across the stated voltage range 5.6v to 22v (2 to 6 Lipo cells). With a linear mode BEC the current available to the reciver and servos drops as cells are added (ie. more cells equals less servos). If you do not have 5v between the red and black- wire, there is a likely problem with the BEC and you will have to return it as I don't think it has an "off" switch in the programming (check your manual as some ESCs do). Before you return it, check to see if the solder connection to the PC board is good. I had a bad one on plush 30a and simlpy re-soldered it myself and replaced the shrink wrap. Take care as HobbyKing may not want take it back after you have removed the shrink wrap.
   waldesbuehl (45%)
Hi, "Linear" and "Switching" are two kind of Voltagregulator. But regardeless of this, you must always have 5V on your conector to the RX. with this Voltage you supplied the RX and all the Servos on it. If you dont have any voltage on the RX-Plug the ESC wil be broken. Dave

Can I use this controller on 450 heli with a 2836 3700 motor and Flymentor 3D?
   tompa@trash.hr (66%)
Yes, you can.
   DrAce (73%)
Yes you can, but it is to big for 450 class heli, the 40a version is perfect for that.
   Grigorij (55%)
yes. no problem
   Hance (67%)
I am using the 2836 2350kv in a funjet with that speed controller and it works great.
   stairman (72%)
Thanks for the replies! The 60amp will work, but after I had installed it, the extra weight made heli off balance. Guess this is why 60amp is to big for 450 heli.

Hi folks,

is the integrated UBEC just as capable as the separate Turnigy 3A/5a UBEC?

Thanks
   JonesRC (34%)
Hi Beltpilot,
Yes, integrated UBEC should be able supply 3A current. I have used this in integrated UBEC for 3 standard servos and receiver plus 2 gyros without any problems. No need for separate UBEC if 3A is enough.

Beware when connecting ANY external battery or BEC in parallel with this ESC. I smoked the BEC circuit when programming it by having a 6V received pack connected to the programming card. This negatively affected my Father's Day :-(

This Turnigy 60amp speed controller is a great match for my Multiplex Blizzard "warm-liner" Glider. I'm using a Turnigy SK 3542-1400 motor, 38mm Headless folding prop spinner and Rhino 2250 3s Lipo.... getting 500watts on this setup, very quick plane with unlimited verticle...awesome, thanks HobbyKing

Just received my PLUSH-60A Controller to be used with a Turnigy C5065-400 Outrunner. It is labeled 5.6V - 26V. I was planning on using it with 8S LiFe cells that would have a max Voltage of about 28.8 V when resting after a fresh charge. Of course, as soon as a load was applied, they would drop to about 24-26V.
Question - Would this ESC handle this condition or should I order the 80A version? I don't plan to pull more than 40 or 50 Amps when flying.
   kevinb120 (70%)
Amps and volts are two different things, the ESC needs to be capable of meeting the demands of both to be safe and reliable to use.
   Peter (40%)
the 80 amper would be better
   JonesRC (34%)
Hi,
80A version can also handle only 26V as both are on same circuitboard. You have to find some other ESC that can handle higher voltage or don't charge to full you LiFE batteries.
Options could be a) TURNIGY Sentilon100A HV 5-12S b) Turnigy Super Brain 100A Brushless ESC
c) TURNIGY Sentilon100A HV 5-12S BESC (Ver4).

Is this ESC has an governor mode ?
   Stan (45%)
Finaly i tried it on one of my helis :
-> yes it has a governor mode !
Just set it with programming card.

Throttle settings are :
Normal : 00% 80% 80% 80% 80%
Idle1 : 80% 80% 80% 80% 80%
Idle2 : 85% 85% 85% 85% 85%

This governor mode on my Tunergy Push 80 works very fine with my T-Rex 500 6S A123 - Scorpion HK3036 - 1900kV - pinion 13T. The rpm are very constant.

Flight time is the same than my previous config without governor mode.

I'll do the same with my T-Rex 450 PRO 3S A123 but this time with Tunergy Push 60 who has got governor mode too.

Anyone removed the Heatsrink cover off their 60A Esc?? I'm wondering if removing the covering i could get better or more efficient cooling???
Thanks in advance........
   fitzy (55%)
it should improve the cooling
   359fishing (67%)
take care I have removed and replaced heatshrink on smaller ESCs to dry them out (don't ask). The aluminum heatsink sits on the power ICs with heatsink grease in between and is held in place by the heatshrink.

QUOTE"are the ESC's OK for 6 cells" Yes Fred they are. Some motors must be run at high timing, and low throttle stutter is not uncommon but it's a solid ESC at 6S LiPo.

Joao, for LiFe the lowest LiPo cutoff voltage is 2.6v/cell. You could use NiMH setting and medium cutoff (45% of initial voltage) or high (60%). Definitely use 60% for the LiFe break-in period (first ~20 flights)

5/10/2009
joao francisco (60%)
hello ... I wonder if this speed is indicated for 3 cell battery life, using a 340W motor, 1700 kv. Please, if anyone has used the speed of life, let me know if it was a good combination.

Two Plush 60 A ESC's are on their way to my shop. They will go into an 81" Mosquito Mk4 PR with 5 high torque servos, large surfaces, and maybe some binding. Expected flying wt. is 14 lbs. Power is two 6 cell 3.6 AH Zippys, one for each side. Can I trust the BEC's to handle the loads? Also, are the ESC's OK for 6 cells (which is the indicated range limit)?

Fred

If you're not strapped for weight Fred, why not have a seperate RX power supply?? I would, and would probably use a 2350mah Rhino 2s Lipo with an 8amp UBEC.

Hobby City,How can I prevent burnout of speed conrtoll in future. I lost my Extra-260 EP 49 inch ARF (which flew very nice since 2008)with TGY Aerodrive Xp Series 35-48 90 and Turnigy Plush 60 amp Speed Controll when the speed control burnout after as few short flights. I use a Zippy-H 4000 mAh 4S1P 25-35C lipoly and a APC 12X6E prop. The duration of the fligts was about 2 to 4 minutes long with the same battery and the time between the fatal flight (that last less than 2 minutes) en the previous flight was about 15 minutes. I dit no check the temprature of the system between fligfhts because I dit not fly very hard. Will you recommend a bigger controller (may be a 80 AMP). What setting/ program will be the best when using the Turnigy BESC Programming card. Please let me know because I want to reorder a knew kit and equipment. Thx.

Hey, I just got this speed controller the other day, it works alright but I realise, at a low speed or RPM the motor seems to stutter. Its a good motor, e-flite 480. The throttle is smooth, its just when i get to a slower speed that the motor seems to stutter, i don't know its is sorta weird.
   aramid (27%)
The controller is losing synchronization with the motor. Try a different setting for the timing, and see if the problem goes away.

I'm considering this ESC because of the 3A BEC. Would that suffice for feeding 4 HXT 6.9kg servos? How would I know the amps the servos use?
Cheers,

Hugo por el nombre pienso que hablas espaol, mira te cuento: si que se pueden utlizar esos servos, si vas a utilizar bateria 5s solo alimenta 4 servos y si utilizas de 2s a 4s puede alimentar 5 servos osea que podras.

I am still having trouble with my 60 amp Plush ESC. It is not the 80 amps. I set the voltage for 4s battery and get 4 verifying beeps. Then the 2 long beeps saying OK. I got all the controls working and motor. After a while I get 1 short beep every few seconds continuous and loose all my controls. I let it beep and after about 2 minutes the beep stopped and I got my controls back. Then again after a few minutes it repeats the single short beep again with loss of controls. I can't fly this plane with this as it is unreliable. Any ideas what to look for?
