How does motor compare to a 400 or 450 size motor? I dont understand these Kv ratings.

Ok, so I took my Funtana clone out for a flight yesterday. After the second battery was about to die, I started doing some powerless dead stick approaches. I was just powering off from about 70 feet up and it would slowly decent with wings leveled. I would power up when it was about 5 feet up and go for another dead stick approach. Anyway, One of those stunts caused me to slam into the prop unto the runway. I got my model and brought it to one of the tables and upon changing the prop and powering up, I noticed that the Turnigy lacked power and was hesitating and locking up...

Upon further scrutiny, the resulting crash caused some magnets to fly loose and are no longer in the motor. I'm missing 3 small magnets to my TR 28-30B 10A 1050kv.

Is there a way to replace them and if so where, and how?

what are the deminsions of this motor 28mm X 30mm ? It would be very helpful if Hobby King would include deminsions on all motors. thanks

Can i use those batteries ZIPPY Flightmax 2200mAh 3S1P 20C whit that
motor
  Reply:  Claus (13 points);
Perfectly. You can use nearly any 3S battery starting from around 1000mAh 20C, if weight matters. If the plane can carry a 2200mAh, you should get a really good runtime.
  Reply:  helicopke (18 points);
yes, ZIPPY Flightmax 2200mAh 3S1P 20C will do nicely as I have experience

Anyone knows the size of the motor?
catkchun (2 points) 9/10/2009
Hi..need help..so u think this motor has sufficient power to fly skyartec cessna 182? Plan to put in 3s lipo. anyone know what is the max ouput current?

Wouter (0 points) 9/10/2009
It seemed a bit heavy to me. I would prefer motors of the 28-26 serie.
vicmel65 (1 points) 9/5/2009
I want to use 4 of these to power my Lancaster using Master Airscrew 3 bladed props 6x4inches.
The model is 58inch span and is not expected to wiegh beyond 3lbs.
Would these be suitable?.
  Reply:  Claus (13 points);
6x4inch 3blade is way below the capability of this motor with 3S battery. If prop size would fit on the plane, get the Master 7x4 3blade.
For 6" diameter prop, I'd better go for a higher KV version like TR2826-1350.

whats better ESC for this motor?(A=?)
  Reply:  fidzi (5 points);
18A will be enought. But if you dont need the lightest components get 25A.

Hello.. I'm thinking of buying this motor but it doesn't say what the aluminum adapter diameter is, 6mm ?

I know the motor shaft is 3.17mm
Thanks
  Reply:  Claus (13 points);
The included adapter is 5mm. My JXF 8x6 prop (OR001-00108C) fits directly (11A * 12V).

can i use this motor for the HK-450 CCPM helicopter?
  Reply:  Allen (3 points);
I use this in my Formosa with a 9x6 prop and it is fast.

One of the guys at my field has these motors and it clicks and he thinks it is broken but it works though! so he runs it ... lol..
bdoets (156 points) 6/7/2009
I need to mount this motor in front of the firewall, so I have to reverse the axle. I've done that before with other brand motors, but I've broken an (identical) Turnigy because, like right now, I cannot take the bell off.
I loosend the Allen screw in the bell, but the bell won't come off. I am reluctant to hit the axle with a hammer, since that's how I wrecked the other Turnigy 28-30B... any suggestions?
  Reply:  helicopke (18 points);
do NOT hit the axle with a hammer, I don't take the axle out but simply turn around the engine, drill out a hole in the nose of the plane if enough space or if a hole is already there it makes things easier =:-) Also cutting of the axle when motor is reversed is an option, but if you keep it then you could mount the prop adapter which comes with it to put a prop on (This is how I do it with a GWS Formosa 1 plane) Hope this helps a little, good luck and happy flying.

I just received a Turnigy Outrunner motor and controller. No hook-up information was provided. The motor has 3 wires, red, black and yellow. The controller wires are labeled A, B, C. Information would be appreciated.
  Reply:  buildncrash (3 points);
Just connect the three wires in any combination and switch two if the motor turns the wrong way
  Reply:  helicopke (18 points);
I found the yellow wire is for C, A and B for red and black but it depends if you need the motor to run clock or counterclockwise, just test since you cannot do anything wrong here, good luck !

The Connectors are 3.5mm. The motor comes with both male and female bullet connectors.
Smokin' Bea (14 points)
Shaft size in 3.0mm
It comes with 3.5mm bullet connectors - male and female included
Comes with prop adaptor kit, mounting plate & hardware.
resistance - I do not know

We use these motors with APC9x4.5E props in GWS Warbird Pylon racing on 3S Lipo & they are excellent.
Hand launch at 75 degree angle is easy.
Motor or 3S 1200ma/hr(30C) packs are not even close to warm.
  Reply:  bergerac (1 points);
Anyone know if this motor will turn a 10x8 prop without getting too hot?
chris (18 points)
When will these be in stock?
Natalija (0 points)
What kind of connectors can I buy here for electrical connections of this motor
  Reply:  bdoets (156 points);
The connectors are provided with the motor - in the pic you see the female connectors fitted over the male connectors which are on the wires. This is how you get the motor.
