i have bought this motor and a 25A ESC , and using a 800mA 2 cell 20C bat my motor and ESC gets pretty hot after some tables tests at half stick .
Is this normal?

Yo lo tengo montado con un ESC 12A y 10x5 apcHK y consume 10A y el avion pesa 760g creo que poniendo 10x4 consumiria menos corriente y te podria servir el motor me parece muy bueno poco peso y poco consumo para el empuje que tiene y sobre todo el precio

will i get away with using the 28-30 on a 12amp speedy.I'm only going to put a 1300mah 2s on it with a 7*5 prop. But will the speedy be to small and burn out?

I have seen the discussions that the shaft is soft metal. Does the motor really handle crashes? I am a beginner and usually crash during maneuver.

When you crashed on the shaft with your plane i think for nothing motor is a good thing.For beginner maybe is a motor on the backside the better option.Or you use a plane with an impeller.

What is the correct replacememnt shaft for this motor ? i can see plenty in the spares section but no threaded shafts or none directly linked to this motor. The original shaft is like butter.

I tried this one *******hobbycity****/hobbycity/store/uh_viewItem.asp?idProduct=7342 TowerPro Motor Shaft w/ Nut for 2409 Motors (3pack) But did not work.... it's 3mm and the one for this motor is 3.14mm

Turnigy AerodriveXp 28-30 Shaft
is a good replacement shaft for TURNIGY 28-30-azj 14A 1100Kv
Shaft fits great but is not as long as the stock shaft and it is not threaded either so you will need either a 3mm or 3.15mm prop adapter so you can put the prop.

The 18A works fine. If you are running 30 amps through this motor you are not going to do it for long.

I have replaced my shaft with the Towerpro 2408 but the bell was to dinged up to do much flying on it. I think any of the Towerpro 24xx shaft should work on this one.

I cut the end and put a propsaver on. The nuts are for GWS style props.

Are spare bearings available? My motor makes terrible noise (coffe grinder) and heats up very quickly, even without a prop, on 2s. /shipping back to HC costs more than motor, senseless to do/

My motor also made noise - coffee grinder is a good description. One magent scratched at the housing. I noticed that ALL magnets were loose! I disassemled the motor and fixed all magnets with epoxy. Now it works fine.
