Hello,

I would like to use this HXT12K on an EDGE 540 180. I'm not so confidante about the reliabilty of this product. Is there someone who use this product since many hours?
   Claudio (48%)
I'm using TowerPro MG946 on my EDGE 27%, this is fasntastic!!

I have been using these servos on my 120 size Extra 260. these are just great... though a little heavy and noiser than other servos, I have not got any problems like locking or jittering or centering issues. THese are good for any plane, even gassers... go for it without any issues.

Cheers!!!
   verorich (29%)
I have used this servo in my super decathlon 66inch, very happy reliable so far for a year.

Using on my Seagull Edge 540 with 26CC Gas 2S. Work great, though one of the aileron servos did start having centering issues after about 15 flights (vibration damage I suspect), but I replaced it and they are going strong after 15 more flights and do good for me.
   hapfel (63%)
I've used them for some 1:10 Monster trucks for myself and my son. Doesn't sound like much, I know, but my son (as other childs of his age as has been explaned to me) has the habit of crashing the truck against *any* available obstacle, just for the sound & look of it. So far he's managed to wreck 3 servo limiters, but the servo's still going strong (the factory-installed one gave up after 2 or 3 battery charges).

I use HXT servos on most all my airplanes,,, they worrk great,,, I usually only get the metal gear..
I abuse them quite badly, and they just keep on working.
Check the RC forums,,,theres a lot of people that use them,,, and not just for the price,,, they are good products...
   Bruce (70%)
I have been using these servos in a cmp 182 skylane and a 46 size Harmon Rocket for some time and it performs very well
   baylordsmith (64%)
I have these in a 30% bipe with a 50cc gas motor and several other planes. No problems and very very strong

I ORDERED 10 OF THESE SERVOS AND LUCKILY, BEFORE FLYING I NOTICED ONE OF THEM HAD LOCKED UP, TRIED ON A SERVO TESTER AND IT PERFORMED OK FOR A WHILE AND LOCKED UP AGAIN IN A DIFFERENT POSITION, TRIED ANOTHER OF THESE SERVOS THAT WAS IN THE pAWNEE, WITH SAME RESULT, WORKED OK FOR A TIME TNEN LOCKED UP. POWER TO THEM IS 6V 4000 ma RUNNING 6 SERVOS.

sAME RESULT WITH THE SERVO'S ON A SERVO TESTER, 6V 2000 ma ONE SERVO, WORKED FOR ABOUT 10 CYCLES AND LOCKED UP?

ANY SUGGESTIONS

I have chosen the hxt12k servo, I ordered 10 of them.Is that true that without a signal presence can still lift(but power on)
can hold its weight lifting power of 10 or less Kgs without dragging it to the original position?
Demetrios can anybody answered that?
   Saurabh (98%)
Not checked with power on and no signal.

I just checked for you :) and yes there is 1 on the main spline gear.

Ran on a full 2S pack for 30-40mins no problems.
   Eric1180 (-53%)
Be careful how you say that. This is the best way how to kill a servo. There is a reason why 7.2v servos cost $60. I bet you didn't use it for 30-40 minutes in a plane. so thats why it hasn't failed yet. Also what good is a servo that can't go in a plane...???

Just tested on almost full 2S (7.94V)

No smoke came out + it worked well (fast)

No long term data at this stage.

I looked at the pcb of my dead servo to figure out the used parts.

A HT7144-1 (4,4V regulator from max input of 24V) powers a PIC16F676 which is driving a AP9930GM 2n 2p Channel Powermosfet.

Sadly i'm not really in with h-bridges and mosfets therefore i can't tell weather this IC can operate at 2s lipo without takeing damage.

It would be nice, if someone with more knownledge could look in the Datasheet and of the mosfet and try to figure out more details.
   nielsp (60%)
The mosfet bridge is rated for 30 volts, 4.5A so this isn't the problem. The higher voltage will increase the stress on the servo, which can on long term damage the motor...it will depend on the application how long the servomotor will last on 2S. (even 3S should be possible with light load). It seems this servo uses good quality components* the mosfet bridge is really good! I'll have a closer look when mine arrive.

Is it possible to power these servos directly with 2s Lipos ? (that means more than 8V at beginning)
   zIvIlIsT (42%)
This is a good question. I try to figure out that, too.
Sadly one of mine built in Servos died just a week ago and i don't know exactly why, might be the temperature (about -5C) or the Voltage (about 7,5 V).

I just can't an answer to this question, therefore i hook up with your question:

Has anyone experiences with the hxt directly connected to 2s Lipo?
   bourrier (83%)
Test done this week-end under direct 2s LiFe = 6,7V with Spektrum receiver.
Among 8 servos tested without charge, 3 died at connexion due to over-voltage ?!!
The 5 remaining are OK even under charge.
So, I come back to 2s Lipos 6V regulator for these servos.
So beware that 7V is not possible on all the production and some will puffed off with grey smoke emission...theses smoked servos are not completely destroyed, they are now just oscillating before returning to neutral position. This is probably one electronic resistor or something like that, that do not accept more than 6V.
Hope this will help.

I use this servo on 1/10 B44 and it's fast enough. Check your BEC's voltage, maybe it's less than 5 volts. You may also disassemble the servo and check if there is no dast and enough grease in gears.

I've just installed 7 of these in a 25% Yak 54 and I'm getting a lot of glitch from them. I'm force to route the Rx antenna far from the servos because as soon as the antenna is less than 3 inches from a servo or servo lead, I'm getting glitches.
Does someone else got a problem like that or know a solution for it?

Thanks.

Maybe change the servo extensions to the twisted kind. And if you don't mind the work you could even swap out the stranded wire to the twisted kind

Anyone put this servo on the cyclic of 50sz heli?

Spec wise, it looks comparable to S92XX. Px wise, the servo costs as much the the Futaba servo arms.

   chad (84%)
do these servos fit a trex 500?
   Deano (69%)
I use these servos in a 120 size tiger moth and they are overkill! You could use them in a 50 heli without any problems, but you may not need to put in such a powerful unit (the 7kg) servo should be fine on 6v. Just remember that these servos will add more weight to you aircraft as they are a fair bit heavier than the 6.9kg plastic geared models.
   Olin (71%)
it will fit a 30,50,90 size but not a t-rex 500

Hello

The HXT12K need programming? (Is there a programmer available?)

The work angle is from 0º to 180º?

Any datasheets for it?

Thanks
   Carlos Arturo (45%)
Hi heimao
Im writing to resquest the same question that you did and something else.. .what is the width pulse maximum and minimum to make work them?
reply me at moo.alva*yahoo****.pe
   Grzegorz (58%)
the angle is from 0 to 180. It works on the 1500us PWM. You cannot use them on the new 7xx one.

Hi,is it ok to use the servo on helicopters 30*50 or 60 sise ?
Would it work well on CCPM rotorhead?
   Olin (71%)
they would be slow for the cyclic but pleanty of torque for any 90 size of bigger Mahuhaha!

Thanks Olin,gonna try em out.

Hi,

I'm using Towerpro MG946R 12kg High Torque Servo and HXT 10kg Servo (metal gear),
both of the servos not working with Y connector.
I connect 2 Towerpro servo to Y connector and its doesn't work, when I reconnect one of them, the second one
Work. Same scenario with HXT servo.
I also replace receiver and Y connector, still got the same problem.
When I connect 1 Futaba servo and 1 HXT / Towerpro servo to same Y connector its working.
The problem occur only when I connect 2 HXT servo or 2 Towerpro servo to Y connector.

Any one familiar with this scenario / problem ?

Thanks
   Olin (71%)
just a thought but these servos are drawing more than your y harness can handle or its your reciver thats not putting enuf current out per channel. good luck!
   Eric1180 (-53%)
Probably not enough voltage going to the sensor wire...(white one) Are you using 2.4 receiver? a lot of times they run a lower voltage. HK sells A voltage booster in the umm... BEC/ power supply section and transmitter and accessories

rgmanica (82%)
come with just 2 servo arms?
   CARL (88%)
Hi Romulo, yes two arms,1 double ended arm-49mm end hole to end hole, single arm-31mm to end hole, hope that helps?
   rgmanica (82%)
It's better take care of this arms... or the servo will be lost becouse don't come with replacement.... afff.... Any other kind of arm could be used? These arms fits on futaba or hitec?
   CARL (88%)
Hello again Romulo, yes the Futaba arms fit perfectly but are not as strong as the original ones that come with this servo, thanks.
   MattyB (77%)
And in any case, a new servo is still cheaper than a set of arms bought from the hobby shop!!

That's the best and only way to go.. also if you broke these gears... wow probably a lot more broken even if it was in a rc car.

But you are sarcastic

mesuni (67%)
Hola, he comprado dos servos de estos y se quedan como clavados al final de la carrera, el receptor es normal de single conversion puede ser este el motivo? hacen ruido como si fueran digitales, el receptor tiene q ser diferente para servos digitales?

Malonso (55%)
My servos make a lot of noise even when they are not moving. This is normal for this servos?
   MattyB (77%)
they do sometimes hum, that is not unusual for digital servos.
   stgram12 (42%)
That means its slightly(parts of mm) of center, and it tries to center it, but because of the small difference, it cant so precisely do the centering.

ofirby (62%)
Why this servo start flipping when connect him with another servo to Y connector ???
   Eric1180 (-53%)
Probably not enough voltage going to the sensor wire...(white one) Are you using 2.4 receiver? a lot of times they run a lower voltage. HK sells A voltage booster in the umm... BEC/ power supply section and transmitter and accessories
