Hello
What is the difference between the GT and the MT model?

The 2 models are nearly the same. The only differences are carbon frame, the log printed on the boom and the main rotor head. The swashplate washout a bit better. I am very pleased with my MT model. If you proceed with the MT model the Part F016 needs glue -Thread locker like TL680- because it gets loose quickly reasulting crash.

As my first ever CP heli, I can say my first ever hovers of a cp heli were made enjoyable, and ultra smooth with this HK450-MT heli!
Heres my vid of my maiden hovers of a cp heli( hk450-mt)
Everything in my set up was purchased from hobbyking, except the align blades. I have not tried the blades that come with it, so I cant comment on those

I just ordered one of these helis, and decided on this:
TY2215-3350 Turnigy Typhoon 450H 2215H Heli Motor 3550kv
I read the comments on the motor and someone said they were using the F050 Pinion Gears, so that's what I got.
I'm new to the hobby and this is my first kit so I'm hoping it was a good choice.
It was also mentioned that the motor doesnt come with mounting screws, so I ordered some of those as well (M3X6)

Hi, just received my heli. Has thread lock been used at the factory? It seems a great shame to strip it all down just to check. Metal parts are quality items very pleased with it.

It is highly recomended to tear down and thread lock pre built parts as you have to remember these are put together at a factory were they are rushed through an assebly line and speed is the key so for safety reasons do your own thread locking.Fly safe LOL Helibrit

Hello again, I am looking at stocking up on parts for repairs. I have just spotted the new V2 standard version that comes with more alloy parts etc, I am wondering as a beginner again would I be better off purchasing one of the cheaper $27.99 kits to do all my training on and holding onto the full alloy version for upgrade parts when i get more experience flying, ie are thge new V2 standard versions a good start for a beginner and do the minor plastic parts offer more forgiveness and flex in a small crash than its tougher brother all alloy. Thanks again for your advise in advance, Rod in Australia

I would suggest getting mainshafts flybars 4mm spindles landing gear and heli blades. I have a full metal head and have crashed probably 20 times never any damage to parts exept shafts plastic will usualy break then you are replacing shafts and plastic parts. fly safe LOL Helibrit

You can buy a whole new kit for just slightly more than it would cost to order the "Blue" metal head from here!
Thats a good deal on 1 full set of "Black" metal replacement parts.

Look at the stock canopy part #F047 for info on coloring the canopy. The epoxy method works great. I don't know about dying it. A buddy had mentioned just filming it (monokote) but after getting it on, it just peeled right back off. Maybe if you could get an overlap, you could get decent adhesion?

Just a heads up: I have 2 of these kits, and the Main Drive Gear on both are Warped and Wobble very badly. The Stock Main Rotor Blades on 1 kit were also Warped Slightly.Plan on getting a Better Main Drive Gear (I am using the Align Blue Version, which also provides better cooling) and better blades. I ordered the 325mm Black and Yellof Carbon Fiber Blades from here and they work well.

I ll be waiting for the HK450 Pro MT :)One thing, aluminium stabilizers are really stupid. Even plastics are better. Vertical often touches ground, so it bends.HK450 Plastic canopy is great. Only problem is cannot be painted. Ok, sure not cool as a GF but it is really strong. So this canopy is best for new pilots.

It would have made more sense to include CF or GF frames. A glass fibre canopy would have been nice too. I think, for those reasons, some buyers will pass on this one.

This is indeed a great deal compared to getting the HK450 and then adding the metal tail and head. One more thing would make it a world-beater. PLEASE upgrade the screws! They aren't just soft metal - they aren't made correctly. I had to cut a 1/16" driver to make one that would assemble my HK450 kit.
Offer an IMPROVED screw kit as an accessory, too!
