i didn't try with more than 5A, with 4-4,5A it works correctly and slightly warm, but the cables, both input and output are undersized for the current, must be replaced, anyway it is a very good product

Hello, I have 2 questions. 1. Does it come with ferite O-ring as shown in this picture? ***********topprops.*****/Assets/Turnigy/SBEC40V/SBEC40V.jpg Mine arrived without this ring. 2. Its said input 8v-26v(2-7cell LiPo) but normal 2s LiPo voltage is around 7-7.5v under load. Can it still operate under rated minimum 8v input voltage? I dont want to risk my model.
Best regards, S.Ganchev

This BEC is a switching BEC, it should operate on the loaded voltage of a 2 cell LiPo.
The recommendation for anyone using a new part is to dedicate a little time to bench testing before you fly because if you fly test and it fails, you will certainly spend more time on the bench.

Yes they will A fully charged 2s lipo will be at 8.4V. I use these to power my 2.4ghz receivers in my nitro's. That way I have piece of mine that there is always going to be at least 6v going to the receiver and i'm not going to get reboots because the voltage dropped to much. As for the ferrite ring all mine come with it so I'd say yes to that question.

no i us3e this all the time on 2s set up and 3s and 4s the ones i bought have never failed they work faultless on every set up i have put them on and they actually take interference out of your set up and stop the servo jitters on cheaper setups they are the best i have come across

whats the difference between ubec and sbec?

Switching mode regulator and Linear regulator[just google it]. Latter one dissipates excess power as heat - means wastes abunch of energy as heat(12v input, 5v output => at 3A load it will have to dissipate 7v and 3A=21 Watt of energy as heat).Thats why cheaper escs heat up from servo load much more than from running a motor and that`s why it is impossible to make nonswitching BEC for high voltage input. Thus switching mode regulators are more likely to generate RF noise and unstable output voltage. Looks like this problem is addressed well in particular device...

There's no difference "U" means universal, "S" means switching, both have switching BEC cicuits. Just check the specs to make sure it's what you want.

A quick answer is a UBec is a linear type and draws more current but do not let that put you off. The SBec is a switching regulator which is usually better.
