Anyone knows the maximum punch setting that is safe for this battery on Hobbywing 80A ESC(1/8 combo)?
   Rokcster (23%)
The 20c rating is = to 100amps constant. It depends what kind of motor you are running, gearing that determines the amp draw. I'd be a little more concerned about your 80 amp esc, if you have a big motor. Rokcster
   Rokcster (23%)
It can deliver 150 amp burst, 100 amp constant. It will handle more than your 80 amp ESC. What motor are you running ? and gearing? Rokcster
   Blissett (35%)
Since this battery can deliver more current than the ESC can handle I'd say you're fine to use the maximum punch setting without worrying about the battery. However I would worry about the ESC doing this...
   rizky_p (35%)
80A is constant current. but this ESC can do 380A burst isn't that what the punch setting in ESC more reffered to not the constant current? So i assume with Lvl 9(max) punch the burst current will be more then 30C(150A)? which is unsafe?

Can this battery be able to fit and work on a 1/10 Scale Exceed RC MadSpeed Electric Powered Drift Car 350Z style?
   daun fa (100%)
Drift Car 350Z kit because I know that no operator contact
   milehiclub (65%)
I use one in a Losi Strike which is 1/10th
   dugan661 (-10%)
yep and work really well!
20/07/2010
aloooooh (55%)
will these fit in a rustler vxl?
   robb-e (88%)
yes, they fit great in my rusty... zero mods to the chassis. I did put some foam backing on the battery bar to give a little cushion.

Rob
   aloooooh (55%)
hi robb-e ,,, do you use special connector to connect this battery? if so could you link me to it?
   daun fa (100%)
rustler vxl kit, because I know no operator contact
   Mayday!Mayday! (89%)
Yes. You may have to use a dremel to lightly sand the side walls for it to slide in easy. I am using these in my rustler and have very long run times and alot of butt behind it.
   dugan661 (-10%)
yep there about the same size as a stick pack nimh
   Kerstin (100%)
they fit
   plejmo (84%)
yes they will fit nicely.

Aaron (67%)
how long does it take to charge this battery for it to be fully charged?
   Morten (55%)
Depending on your charger. usaly the rule is that you charge a lipo at 1C. (~1hr, 5A in this case).
   robb-e (88%)
on my turnigy accucel 8 and balence charging at 5 amps takes around 50 min.
   cedric (75%)
1 hour at 5A
   Robsrotor (48%)
depends on your charger and how many amps you set it to, 5 amp charging your looking at about 1 hour to charge, may be less because you should not fully discharge these batterys
   daun fa (100%)
It takes about 1 hour
   Mayday!Mayday! (89%)
All lipos depending on how drained they are- charged at 1c will take between 45 minutes and an hour. Does not matter what mah they are.
This info is also based on the fact that your charger will put out the 1c amps (some will only do 4-5 amps max)
   dugan661 (-10%)
depends on how low it is..100% dead to fully charged can be done in under 30min
   Chevy Nitro (-16%)
At 5amps or 5000mah it takes approx 50min to 1hr to fully ballance charge.
   benjamin (91%)
hello, if you charge it at 1C, it would take about 1 hour balancing (about 10 min)
   Cosmin (80%)
depends on the amperage you use for charging
   Rokcster (23%)
It depends at what charging rate (amps) you charge it at. What are you charging it with? A decent charger will terminate charge when it's fully charged, and tell you the time, mah's and voltage during and after it's done. Rokcster.
   Blissett (35%)
Depends on the charger. With a 5 amp charger you're looking at about 80-90mins from fully discharged.

Divide the battery Ah by the charger current to find the number of hours taken....then add like 40% or so because the current doesn't remain constant throughout the charge.

   wrxnfx (43%)
Not sure if anyone noticed this, but on the back of the battery it says not to charge over 2C which means that it is capable of being charged at 10A. A friend of mine noticed this and has charged his packs at 10A which is pretty damn awesome because it saves so much time! These batteries are truly high discharge and are a hell of a deal!
   Coopers (60%)
Depends completely on the rate you are charging it at. I charge mine at 4.0 Amps, and it takes a bit over 30 minutes to charge and balance.
   Chevy Nitro (-16%)
Needs approx 50min to 1hr to fully ballance charge with a approved lipo charger set to 5amps or 5000mah.
   Cosmin (80%)
depends on the amperage you use for charging
   Blissett (35%)

Aaron (67%)
so is a 20c good, average, or awesome?
   Morten (55%)
you cant realy say if the C rating makes it good or bad. The C rating is a multiplicator for the capacity. example: (capacity X "c-rating = max amp draw) A: 1000mah 20C it can delivere 20Amps B: 5000mah 20C it can delivere 100Amps
   Robsrotor (48%)
that is about avaerage.. this means you can draw 100 amps so depending on your application.
   daun fa (100%)
awesome
   Justin (84%)
its pretty good. all depends on what your esc needs
   dugan661 (-10%)
average.. there good for about 100amps... i had one puff on me tho
   Kerstin (100%)
average
   Rokcster (23%)
It depends on what you are running. No matter what it is, you can never have too many amps. In my boats, cars, I use 40 or 50c. How fast and how long do you want to run for? Rokcster.
   Blissett (35%)
It's good if it's what it says - and I've tested these batteries so can confirm this. You'll struggle to draw 100A constant current from this battery, the only real advantage of a higher discharge rating is that the voltage will drop less under load.
17/07/2010
Aaron (67%)
what does the "20c" mean on the battery?
   lordg90 (58%)
20 * 5 (Ah) = 100 ( A ) - constant discharge
   Mark (61%)
...5 (Ah) = 5000mah. (Mah/1000) * C rating = discharge capacity in amps.
   vynner (59%)
it meant the burst rate or the punch power of the lipo...
   Morten (55%)
The C rating is a multiplicator for the capacity. example: (capacity X "c-rating" = max amp draw) A: 1000mah 20C it can delivere 20Amps B: 5000mah 20C it can delivere 100Amps
   cedric (75%)
it is the discharge. So for this on 20x5=100A of continious discharge
   Robsrotor (48%)
that is the discharge rate, this means you can discharge at 20x the capacity ie: 5000mah 20c = 5amp X 20 = 100amp continuous draw from the battery with out burning it out
   daun fa (100%)
Voltage power
   benjamin (91%)
20 c is the continous discharge rate (so the max Amp = 20 x 5 = 100 A)
   plejmo (84%)
i can't explain perfectly but it has something to do with how much continuous power it will give. i'm sorry i can't help you any more.
   Blissett (35%)
That's the discharge rating. 20C means it can deliver a constant current of 5000mAh*20C=100,000mA, or 100 amps. So basically higher discharge rating is better.

unseenmagik (93%)
Will these fit the Team Associated B4 Buggy ?
   Chris (70%)
Yes, these fit in the B4, T4, and sc10. Just let the balance port fall forward or slip it through one of the openings in the battery strap.
   mouchadino (28%)
I use for rc drift and traxxas erevo may also be used this battery in Associated B4 Buggy , let's see if they fit the size where
   unseenmagik (93%)
Thanks Chris. Perfect Answer :-)
   discosuy (75%)
This battery has the same measures than a NiMh 6 cell pack.
   Ricardo (77%)
yes they will fit fine i use them on my t4 and b4, great battery
   Jason (44%)
Yes! 100%
   smoedog (46%)
Yes, they fit great
   matthew (63%)
yes they will you should invest in a metric caliper. its well worth the 10 to 20 bucks and will aid in setup on you b4
   clod_buster04 (67%)
they will fit any vehicle that takes a standard stick pack as long as there is access for the wires to stick up instead of coming off the end of the pack as you can see in the picture
   Kevin (72%)
This pack fits perfectly in my T4.1 and SC10. I believe the B4 has the same battery tray and very similar chassi so I believe they will fit nicely.
   Mikael (43%)
What contects you have ? If it not will fit, you always can change the contact easy.
   pecos kid (86%)
I run one of these in my Losi 1/10 scale Sprint Car, fit great.
   sebastien (84%)
yes it will fit!
   Rokcster (23%)
No problem. Rokcster.
   plejmo (84%)
yes they will.

So my tip to HK is to either change the connector on the pack or create two adapters that change a 4mm bullet to a Traxxas or Tamiya (so I don't have to make it myself. Not that I couldn't but hey I'm lazy, I want to drive not solder :)
   Knez (97%)
Traxxas or tamiya connectors are total ****! HK should stay with 5.5mm or maybe go to 6mm connectors Bullet that is...best choise, love them!!! LOL almost pissed my self...tamiya connectors..good joke man :D
   mouchadino (28%)
u can use ...HXT 4mm Gold Connector w/ Protector (10pcs/set) Tamiya style connector Male/Female 10cm (5pairs/bag)
   Michael (19%)
a 4mm plug can handle the amperage better so it would be better if you changed your esc and charger to 4 mm bullets or larger
16/03/2010
SEALen (35%)
These packs will most likely be used in cars so why not have a connector that are used in cars like the Traxxas or Tamiya one? I've not seen any car using the 4mm bullets so far.

So my tip to HK is to either change the connector on the pack or create two adapters that change a 4mm bullet to a Traxxas or Tamiya (so I don't have to make it myself. Not that I couldn't but hey I'm lazy, I want to drive not solder :)
   Knez (97%)
Traxxas and tamiya connectors are not best choise of connectors...6mm Bullet connectors are really good...also rated a lot higher!
   vegiampa (36%)
:):):) If you want to drive only, you must find someone that change the connector for you. Ok? :)
   discosuy (75%)
Ja ja ja ja... !!! I think the same.
   Talon (86%)
Agreed, but I would say put deans plugs on everything. I think they have the best and tightest connection!
   big worm (12%)
a Tamiya connector would probably burst into flames if it were used at the kind of current these packs supply....and ALL my cars/trucks have 4mm bullet connectors....
   TiM!@MSUK (56%)
Thing is a Tamiya plug will melt within seconds on this battery. And people use deans or traxxas plugs for cars, so it's hard to accommodate for both while keeping the cost down.

YES!!!! They are finally not backordered!
   vegiampa (36%)
Yes, but it remain "in stock" only for a moment. :(:(

   HyungRyul (45%)
So any updates?
I've waited 21 days so far.
   moller123456 (59%)
Well they have been out of stock for about 90days
   moller123456 (59%)
FINALY

LOL it still shows -ve 40.
Did they get to positive? At least my order is filled now

Maybe they ordered enough, but they didn't get delivered enough... dont make presumptions.
   moller123456 (59%)
Now they have enough for at least 1 day
   vegiampa (36%)
My experience with "backordered" is 70 days for waiting from payment.

I can not fit this battery into my Tamiya TL01 battery slot. Do you have any suggestion on how to fit it?
To modify (cut) chassis or to strap it on top? :)
   vegiampa (36%)
You must cut your chassis.
   stgram12 (42%)
Its better to strap in on the top, so it is not exposed. Especially if we are talking about a monster truck. (Bonzer, e.g.)
14/10/2009
insang (82%)
holy ****. HK just sold 200+ packs in a week?!?!. HK needs better inventory management software LOL. I'm almost postive someone is rebadging these and selling at higher price lol
12/10/2009
segmentfault (82%)
Please make hardcase packs in 4s and 5s!
   insang (82%)
well if you look at the front sticker it only has 2s or 3s. so I'm guessing 3s is in the works but no 4s or 5s
   segmentfault (82%)
Well I'd be satisfied if they made a 30c or 25c hardpack. Then I could put two of them in series. 20c isn't going to cut it.
   anrewhendler (91%)
its 5000mah, what are you going to put it in where 20c wont cut it. The c rating is also reflected in the mah, its not as important by itself as other companies make them out to be.

   Demian (60%)
5000mah at 20c constant is 100amps discharge there is NOTHING that you have that will need more than that the mamba monster esc with a 2200kv motor barly uses that much current in a heavy monster truck
   Ricardo (77%)
they make a 4s hardcase

power output already exceeds of the standard when using this battery.... :)
   TiM!@MSUK (56%)
Yes as long as it's a 1/10 scale version. Not the 1/16.
   Ryan (72%)
Yes it will. This is what my friends use.
   Kevin (72%)
This pack will fit the Slash with room to spare. I have been using the 5200 30c hard case lipos in my all my Slash's, 2wd and 4x4. They fit perfect with the optional battery strap that has a 29mm side and 23mm on the flip side.
   brooks (72%)
yes great battery for the slash

can you plug and unplug those cables from the pack like the red 4000 25C car lipoly?
   Kristaps (37%)
I doubt that - doesn't look like you can from the picture, but might be wrong. Would be nice though.
   moller123456 (59%)
99% sure that you can't
   insang (82%)
You cannot. But you can bend the wires to come out from the top or from the side. as in you cna make the wires and pack a 90 degree angle or a straight line. genious if you ask me.
   marko (72%)
Umm.. balance cable also non-removable?
   TiM!@MSUK (56%)
No, they are soldered inside the pack.
   Kevin (72%)
No, the cables are hard wired. However, they are very flexible and easy to manage.
   dae (50%)
its banana plug.

Kristaps (37%)
The connector consists of a pair (two) of 4mm females right?
   davidpc2 (47%)
Hi, i bought a turnigy 4000 amps 30c with same connector, arrived today, and the bullet connector was male-female. Seems same in the photo.
   moller123456 (59%)
Its 4mm bullet
its a male/female plug
   vegiampa (36%)
No, a male (black) and a female (red). It's for stupid drivers...
   mouchadino (28%)
the most suitable connector is a size 4mm
   smoedog (46%)
correct
   TiM!@MSUK (56%)
The connector has one male bullet and one female bullet. Other wise it would be very easy to plug it in the wrong way.

Amazing price, for a comparison, a few months ago I bought a 5000mAh 2S hardcase pack from a local source = US$82!

   mouchadino (28%)
the longer the battery prices getting cheaper because it is mass produced... then I left the nitro rc car and switch to battery
4/10/2009
Trance183 (89%)
Awesome! Bring on the 3s packs as well please. Thanks!
   Trance183 (89%)
Starting to wonder, will there be a 3s pack coming soon? Really need to know before I buy a local one for twice the price. :(
   Craig9080 (77%)
Just dont go hardcase then, wrap a soft lipo in high quality duct tape and use it instead. Most E-revo Brushless guys are using soft packs without a problem.
   Trance183 (89%)
Yea I use soft 3s 2200mah packs. But I wouldn't wanna bother duct taping them cause they're also used for my heavy foamie planes. So I hope they release 3s hard-packs.
   moller123456 (59%)
If you look on the pack it says: 2s and has a blue dot oan 3s and a white dot, so there should be coming one
   redliner (47%)

   quadracer111 (36%)
I am pretty sure they are releasing the 3s version of this packs soon. Look at the picture, on the label it says 2s (7.4v) or 3s (11.1v) and the 2s one is checked off. So there is a 3s version of this pack but it is not released yet. Hopefully it is a 30c pack and around $30-35.
   snabbgas (72%)
It is always 3-4 weeks away if you ask support.
It doesn't matter when you ask *)
I cancelled and ordered the Zippy 4000mah hardcase instead...

I want a 4cell hardcase 40c. 3800mah to 5000mah!
   Jaroslav (36%)
So my tip to HK is to either change the connector on the pack or create two adapters that change a 4mm bullet to a Traxxas or Tamiya (so I don't have to make it myself. Not that I couldn't but hey I'm lazy, I want to drive not solder :)
