Hi all, Got my camera today and after a 3 hour charging I thought I’d try it out. Turned on the camera and nothing, what?? I thought. Ok, nothing more with that, tried to push some buttons… The red led flashed once each time I pressed to Mode button. When pressing the “start/stop” button nothing happened at all any time. Looked at the instructions listed here under the files tab, in the discussion area, review area and in the community area, nothing still.. Plugged the damn thing back in to the computer and formatted the SD card, read somewhere that it could help, nope, not for me. Plugging it back and forth a couple of times and suddenly it records a couple of seconds of video and then stops and leds go out, tried to press the mode button but only one flash and darkness. Anyone else who have had similar issues and got their camera to work?

My camera is dropping frames with the *new improved* SanDisk Fast spec SD Card. Is it worth buying a decent RETAIL class 4 card for this camera... will it solve the dropped frames problem?
Other than the dropped frames, I'm very happy with the image quality.

***Update
No changes on the led colors. Could be there is no led to determine a full charge. I just did a 14 hour charge. I unplugged it when I felt battery was getting warm.
In hindsight, I think it would be best to have an initial charge of 6 hours. You get to charge it time & again when you need to figure out the camera.

Have you ran into an issue where the cam shuts off for periods when you're filming? I noticed that there were two periods, one where the cam stopped filming for 2 minutes & then again later on for 50 seconds. I had noticed it before but haven't been able to figure it out. Sometimes it films just fine & will go for a full flight worth. Am I putting it into some kind of sound activated mode?

It creates the folder automatically, thats not the problem. What you need to do is to try to repair the card via card-reader. And when you format, it must be fat16, not 32 (as I remember). I accidentally got it into same situation and it started to work after formatting to the oldest possible format..
I went to by larger card and the reader, which costs twice the price of the camera :D

I just got one and it does pretty good video in the daylight, not so good in low light. My lens is a little off square as well. Some notes... ++The red led flashes when charging on the USB, this takes about an hour or so. ++There is only a Red and Blue led ++The time stamp cannot be removed. ++Records in 740x480 which fills the 2Gig card in about 40 minutes. ++If the card fills up the file is saved and recording stops. ++My battery lasts about 50 minutes. ++If the battery runs out the file is not saved and you end up with two other files on the disk called AAAAAAAA.AAA and BBBBBBBB.BBB, just recharge the battery and delete those files. ++Also if the battery runs out the time will be reset back to it's default.
I hope this helps others out. Regards Flatstrap (13 May 2010)

I am having some problem with the date, it stats back from Jan, 2008. I tried to change it by following the direction on the date files upload, but with no luck, I added the file to path for the camera DCIM -> 100MEDIA file, and I turned the camera off, unplug it and then conect it to the PC, but it is still show the same date (Jan. 1, 2008). Anybody could help me please, is their is a trick to doing it..??, other than that, the camera works just fine, I did a few movies, and it works good, the quality of the movies is OK, but for the price of the camera, that is a good deal. So lets see if we could fix the wrong date....!!, and help please...?? P.S. if you could insert the file with your reply, that would be helpfull, thanks.

This new stock uses the tag.txt file. File should look like this: [date] 2010/04/15 12:12:56
Note that you have to write the [date]. Place the file root of the SD. Turn the cam off and then back on. File disappears and the datetime should be ok.

I did, the lens is built into the sensor component and the component's connections are soldered onto the circuit board with a ribbon cable. The component is only attached to the housing by a little foam tape.
If you are wondering why I had opened it up, it was because the unit I recieved was faulty and technically killed the microSD.

I have the one indicated by you and it's not real 30FPS. I saw you tube video filmed with this one and there seams to be way better then mine (see review there are some links there). I think this one is the much better deal!

Is there a way to stop the time from showing? Setting it is useless since it goes back to default on battery change. They do make good vids but sure have some strange issues. When I got mine, the video was on 30 degrees angle. I had to open it and set the lens straight and glue it in place because the wire strip was was pulling on the lens spinning it to side. Glue holds the lens in place but now the wire strip is under tension so I hope it all holds.

Check your battery tabs. Mine shut off from ***ps and vibration I tweaked the tabs out with a dental pick so the push harder problem solved. If you are not careful putting the battery in you can crush them down.

"Reviews" do not work here, so I'm posting my experiences as a "question".
I used the TR52DV camera for outdoor flights with my Honey Bee CP helicopter. Poblems encountered: 1. Low fps rate (far from 30 fps) plus vibration of a helicopter means you get blurred patterns and never a sharp video. 2. Narrow angle of the lens, so it sees only what is in direkt line. Cam has to be pointed forward to film more than the ground and see the horizon to be identified as a flight video at all. So you need to build an extra camera mount to use it on a helicopter.

never had any luck with supplied mount, i made one from an angled bracket in hardware stores, and i just zip tie it on there, lots less vibration. I get a pretty good field of vision, sounds like other people have found the lense inside camera not mounted properly, this might help

Hallo, ich bin wohl zu doof. 1.
Was luft da falsch?

Hy Guys, now ive some answers. First time the system would found the cam only sometimes. The reason: the cable is defect. With a new one there is no driver nedded for XP.
My Cam only takes a file names TIME.TXT . I made it with the Editor and testet different versions. Now only save the text: 2010-03-19 17:04:00 and save the file in the rootdirectory of the cam. After switch off and on the cam erases this file. The cam can placed on line, so you can have a look if the file is erased. You can check it with a short Video. Switch the cam off and on is no problem but after change the battery you can start again. Much fun, Holzmichel.

Hi,
I put together a set of instructions from all the comments and manuals that made sense for this camera and it is here: ***********rcuniverse****/forum/m_9717174/anchors_9717174/mpage_1/key_/anchor/tm.htm#9717174
I still am not sure of how to charge from the computer, that is, should it be on or off when pluged into the USB port.
Hope the above helps.
