Thank you, your time set utility or somthing like it should have been included with the camera. I tried the time.txt file a half dozen or more times with no luck this worked first try.

Somehow, I managed to fix the problem mentioned before. Don't know what I did but I could access the camera and cut the files before Windows shut the program down.

Now I have a new problem. All the videos have an overlay at the top which says "PicView" and at the bottom it says "****jpg****." As I recall, the first time I played video from the card I did it through Windows Media Player. After that, it launched in the viewer suppied "with" the camera. I don't recall that when I viewed it through windows that the overlay was there.

Is there a way to eliminate this overlay?

Tried my camera today. Sound is great, color is great, resolution is great. However, when I tried to download to my computer, I got a "data execution prevention" message that Windows was shutting the program down, apparently because it's not registered with microsoft. I attemnpted to change settings so it would not shut down but before I can identify any program to add to the accepted list it shuts down.

Has anyone else had this problem and how can I fix it.

After getting quite annoyed at having to set the time after each dead battery and just at random times, I wrote a small program to set the time for me whenever I need it. You can download it here: ***********whitbyaeromodellers****/downloads/settime.zip

You use it like this:

1: Plug in the camera via USB and turn it on. Wait for Windows to recognize it as a drive.
2: Launch settime.exe. The dialog will popup asking which drive to write to. Select the Turnigy camera.
3: Click 'OK'. This will write the time.txt file to your camera with the current time and date from your computer.
4: Unplug and restart the camera. The date and time should be all set up for you. Verify this by taking a pic and checking the date.

Let me know if you have problems with this. I just tossed it together quick.

Thanks for the utility. I am unable to set the time/date. I have manually created the time.txt file (many MANY times) but the date will not change from 12/31/2000. I have followed the procedure exactly.

I tried your utility, and it does not change the time either. I'm out of idea's. Anyone?

Thank You Howard Smith I have downloaded the Zip and at last the time and date on my Turnigy camera is correct.
Thanks again

Wow! Thanks! that was easier than pie. I don't see why the others are having problems? I just downloaded it and used it like described. Took about 10 seconds! And now the camera shows the right time perfectly.
Thanks for the little .exe file!

Please tell me how to erase video from the card after I have copied it to my computer( Windows Video player). No mention of how to do that in the manual. Thanks apart from that I am very pleased.

Open the camera from "my computer" it is E: drive on mine select and delete it or all the folders in there if you want to delete everything. I personaly just select them and cut and paste them to my computer that delets it from the card once it's done copying.

Is there a known way to support realtime clock of this camera for the moment of battery exchange? My camera reser date and time way too fast before I insert replacement battery.
Perhaps just adding a capacitor will suffice..
As for manual for and4775 - just look better at the bottom of product description - theres a link.

Hi Sklenar,
Perhaps you could swap batteries while connecting the cam to the usb-port. Could be done in the field using temporary 5V source (e.g. BEC output).

About the weight, mine is about 130g including all packaging materials. Do I miss something of 272 - 130 = 142g?

I just received mine today and the video is so blown out, the whole playback screen is white. If I shoot in a dark area, I can begin to see images but if I shoot outside, all I get is white. Audio is fine. Any suggestions or did I get a dud?

Iam thinking of buying this cam but it seems like some people are having alot of trouble w/it do you think that HK has worked out the problems yet? The videos that I have seen look good Also can anyone give something size wise to compare it to(like a Bic lighter, or 3 dimes tall 2 dimes wide ect...)would like to order soon before it is gone again Thank You very much for any and all info BTW HK Customers are the BEST!
  Reply:  Sterling (28 points);
Can't help you out with any issues, but size would be close to a Bic lighter, just a little thicker (by about 3/8 of an inch).
This customer was awarded a credit for their answer.

Thanks Sterling for the info!(Better mental view)
Looks as though they are still having a few bugs with this cam? Better wait and see what happens before I order.

No way ! I wasnt able to set up date and time. I followed all instrunctions, and tried all ways. Any suggestions ???
Thmks !
  Reply:  sklenar (9 points);
Simply create file named time.txt in root directory of SD card. In file, there have to be current date and time in exactly right form (no additional spaces or so):
2009.12.24 00:39:21
After turn on, file is applied and deleted.

The cam could be used as a webcam too, but does anybody have an idea where to get a driver?

Anyway, a very good cam for a nice little price.

I'm flying it with an Easy Star. Have a look:

I got one with new kingston card, but the camera does not work???? Are there instructions anywhere to assist us in getting the thing operating? Would be nice to take some video of the fresh snow here in Canada. Any help appreciated.

Has everyone experienced and corrected the lack of audio issue some are having? I have good video however no audio.Thanks
  Reply:  Sokonomi (2 points);
This all seems to get down to if your computer happens to like the audio included in the video container. I tried my cam on an old XP machine and the audio was nasty and choppy, then I took the camera, with the same video, up to my room and tried it on a nice win7 machine, sound suddenly turned to flawless. Codecs are the problem I suppose.
  Reply:  movieloop (0 points);
thanks Sokonomi, to late, I have already RMAed it and sent it back.
  Reply:  Chrissy47 (23 points);
It is a codec problem, not a problem with the camera.

Having trouble setting the date?

Perhaps owing to my Aussie date setting, the time.txt file copied to the camera was reading "Mon .7/.2 18:47:28". This won't work. I had to manually edit the "time.txt" file on the camera so it read as follows:

2009/12/07 18:47:28
yyyy/mm/dd hh:mm:ss

I hope this helps anyone having an issue. Happy landings!

I gave up setting the time and wished it went away. I made a video and posted on youtube. I like the camera and probably the card issues have been solved. Here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7SKipTCy80
  Reply:  Sokonomi (2 points);
Thanks Takly, that sorted my date out well and proper. Shame I cant simply turn it off though. Or can you?
  Reply:  Cybernaught (11 points);
Great info thanks. It worked first time.
Do you know how to turn off the date/time stamp completely. I can live with it but would like to have the option.
tnx,
Steve.
